University Square Hotel

The lobby smelled like mold. There is a sign at the entrance that says "we are a 2 star facility, if the accommodations are not to your satisfaction, your stay will be refunded." I entered my room, it was not clean, evident dirt and debri on the floor, burn marks in the sofa and bedding, dead bugs on the floor and in the bathroom. No kitchenette, coffee maker or microwave in the room. I did not stay here, it was gross. I DO NOT recommend this location to any traveller.

Don't stay unless it's the only available option. I don't really like to write negative reviews but this was just not an inviting facility at all.
From the moment you arrive there are signs everywhere warning you about car break-ins, and how the area is in constant surveillance (which does nothing to promote any kind of safety). There were sketchy people lurking about and that should have been enough to send us away but we decided to give it a chance anyways. Before even making it to the room you can tell that the place is not well kept by the state of the hallways (nasty smells probably from bad ventilation, stained carpets, beat up doors). When we got to the room, the door was opened. After we entered we saw there was a lady cleaning which was super odd as we arrived at 7:30 and check-in started at 4. She told us that someone had just left the room. We had just gotten back from a long hike and really needed a shower, and although the tub itself wasn't dirty, the curtain was covered with mildew. When we were on our way out to eat we realized the door never locked. We tried to lock it multiple times, it wouldn't lock and honestly it was no surprise as the door looked like it was forced open multiple times and it was pretty beat up. On top of that the AC didn't even work and, for a non-smoking room, it had a strong cigarette smell. Not long after that the fire alarm went off (we guessed it was due to someone cooking down the hall as there was also a strong burnt food smell). We left the premises right away after that and wish we would have taken pictures but we were so fed up all we could think was to leave. I strongly encourage everyone to spend the extra money and stay somewhere else.

Auf sämtlichen Warnschildern wird darauf hingewiesen, dass irgendwie etwas nicht stimmt. Das Auto stellt man ab und auch hier hat man Angst, dass es aufgebrochen und demoliert wird. Auch im Zimmer hat man Angst, dass Nachts eingebrochen wird.
Des Weiteren war die Matratze sehr sehr schmutzig. Wir haben uns überhaupt nicht wohl gefühlt. Wir hatten sogar Angst.

The elevator did not work they said it was down permanently there was no swimming pool completely empty cockroaches in my room homeless people everywhere sleeping in the driveway in their cars right in front of the entry doors

I felt very unsafe at this hotel, especially as a woman. There was a lot of noise early in the morning, the elevator was not working, and the overall environment was uncomfortable. We also encountered a man wearing only underwear in the stairwell, which made us feel very unsafe. We barely slept during our stay.
