We used to live in Trinidad so know The Kapok quite well. It didn't disappoint - a wonderful breakfast up in the top floor restaurant with great views. The pool area has been improved and is lovely. The rooms are a little dated, but this almost adds to the charm. Towels and toiletries provided and replaced daily. Room very clean. Good sized bed, but a little bit squeaky.
The bar outside near the pool area was closed - probably as it was quite quiet at the time. Will be a great feature in the summer ...

Great location, beautiful views from the window, nice restaurant on the 8th floor, excellent breakfast, friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful, providing valuable information about the local area and expertly arranging taxis whenever we needed them. The breakfast offerings were delightful, with a variety of options that set a positive tone for the day. We also enjoyed dining at the two on-site restaurants, both of which served delicious meals that exceeded our expectations.
Additionally, having a shop conveniently located within the hotel was a great advantage, as it allowed us to purchase snacks and essentials easily. The hotel's location couldn't have been better, as it was just a short walk from several attractions, including the zoo and the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens. Moreover, nearby was a shopping complex featuring supermarkets, restaurants, a pharmacy, clothing stores, and an ATM.
When we encountered an issue in our room, the staff responded promptly and efficiently, swiftly moving us to another room without any hassle. Overall, our experience was enjoyable and stress-free, thanks to the attentive service and excellent facilities.
You need to be clear that you want a taxi. As we found out, the driver who was supposed to take us to the beach was not the same person who actually took us there. The male staff member arranged for this driver to take us to the beach, and the driver informed us that the money would be split between the driver and that staff member, which is why they overcharged us.
The breakfast was good, friendly staff, the pool was nice, the ambience was terrific!

Overall experience was nice but the food made me sick... waiters were on point. room cleanliness was there... I would recommend but it would not be the first choice.
I can't remember the room number I got now, but it was the best room I ever got while staying there, it was the best, bigger and more roomy.
