Beautiful and clean building. Great location. Older, quirky art deco which I appreciated; my husband felt it smelled ‘old’ which I didn’t notice. The main issue we both had was with the service—almost robotic staff. Other than the helpful older man assisting us to enter the hotel door in the evening when the ‘key’ doesn’t work, the staff was vague, not helpful and not engaging at all. All other staff members did not seem interested in welcoming or assisting the guests.
Check in took so long to get the key, my husband gave up and opted to download app which didn’t not work to enter the building when the front door locked in the evening.
Front desk could not tell us about late check out times until the morning of check out despite being a diamond member.
The wait staff ignored us and we had to ask for assistance after 20 mins waiting. The breakfast and drinks were almost inedible. We each had 2 bites and left to buy drinks and food elsewhere.
If you don’t mind rude staff and plan to eat elsewhere, the building is nice.

I had a fantastic experience at the Barnes Hotel! From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was warm, welcoming, and genuinely thoughtful.

A special shoutout to Eduardo at the front desk, who truly made the experience stand out. He was incredibly friendly, professional, attentive, and went out of his way to make sure everything was taken care of. It’s that kind of personal service that can completely change a hotel stay, and Eduardo absolutely delivered.

The hotel itself was comfortable, inviting, and a great place to stay, but the exceptional service is what I’ll remember most.

Had a wonderful weekend in late July! Amarion was amazing! He anticipated questions before we asked! And after a long morning getting into the city he made us feel immediately at home. Can’t say enough about the level of care he brought to our interactions.

This just wasn't up to Hilton standards in any aspect. The location near Union Square was convenient, and there was a Starbucks right next door, so those were positives. The room was relatively quiet except for the night a barking dog was down the hallway. Everything in the bathroom worked up to expectations. The wifi was very slow. The room decor was dated, and a little strange (blue vinyl sofa?). Don't bother paying for a window view because there is nothing to see. My room was very cold and the control for the wall unit was something I'd never seen before. Staff were friendly but otherwise indifferent. I can't recommend it and would hesitate to stay here again.

Crap

We arrived at the hotel front desk, where Amarion and amen greeted and assisted us. The entire check-in process was very efficient. Since we needed to work on our displays, Amarion and Amen kindly gave us a room with a large desk where we could work comfortably.

The room was very spacious, bright, clean, and comfortable. Amarion and Amen ar perfect hotel employees-friendly, enthusiastic, attentive, and responsible.

The Barnes is definitely a hotel worth choosing because it is comfortable and conveniently located.

Run away, do not stay, what a horrible place. Our "deluxe" room looked at a wall. Rude staff.
As a Hilton Diamond member i hoped for better attention. We are still fighting charges that appeared after checkout.

Closed to Union Square

Angelica provided us with stellar customer service. She was very informative about our benefits I was not aware of, so it was a nice surprise and helped make our stay even better

It’s in Downtown and easily accessible to major locations.

Very dirty

The hotel is great and very centrally located, the staff was amazing and really went above and beyond. Specially Franky, the warm smile and friendly personality definitely makes every day better. I must say, breakfast did started very slow, one morning I could no longer wait for my meal, had to leave without eating, but the other mornings this was corrected and breakfast arrived promptly.
