Pros:

Was an excellent location within walking distance of many restaurants. Mostly writing a review for the most incredible waiter, Rueben. He by far exceeded my expectations, always made sure we were taken care of, he was very attentive and paid attention to the smallest details such as what I drink in the mornings. I hope this review reaches the right people and Rueben gets a raise or some sort of compensation for his excellent services. Gonna miss him 😊

We enjoyed ourselves. It was a great location and the staff were helpful.

The female concierge that we worked with was spectacular!

Family Reunion and stay at The Westin, Gaslamp Quarter
Pros:

I stayed at the Westin, Gaslamp Quarter, for the first time with my family. The staff was very personable and helpful. All three rooms were quiet and clean. Our request for quiet locations on the higher floors were fulfilled. Each of us commented on the comfortable bedding and the well stocked amenities. The onsite restaurant was a treat. From the wonderful staff to the food we were very satisfied with our meal. I hope to have a reason to visit San Diego again and stay at the Westin!

Reasonable - but the coffe cup debacle was disappointing
Pros:

Quite a good location.

Cons:

Cardboard coffee cups and powder creamer. When we asked for china cups and real milk it caused great confusion. At the price you would think china cups and real milk would be standard (or at least readily available).

Incredible Hotel, Staff, and location
Pros:

I had an absolutely incredible stay at this Westin and wanted to share my appreciation. The hotel itself is clean, beautiful, and in a great location, which made the entire experience even better.

What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional service. A special thank you to Keila at the front desk, who went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. She was warm, professional, and genuinely caring, an absolute standout. The rest of the staff (Brianna and Victor) were equally kind, attentive, and welcoming.

I’m so grateful for such a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. I’m already looking forward to my next stay!

I want to give kudos, shout outs, and thank you’s to as bunch of Westin’s employees. First I want to thank Selena, Luis and Jagger that work in the cafe area. They are so kind and helpful. I came to the Westin this month and previously in October 2025, and I was hoping to see Selena and Luis again as they took great care of me in October, my coffee was always goood. Shout out and thank you to Teresa and Lyssette at the front desk. Lyssette made my check-in flawless and was so kind. My room on the 12th floor was very nice! Teresa was a life saver as I forgot my razor and hair brush. She gave me a razor kit and a comb, much appreciated as I was freaking out. Her kindness calmed my anxiety!
The kitchen and wait staff deserve major acknowledgement and a thank you. The food for this conference was so good, and the service was amazing. They tended to everyone, constantly moving, and never rude. Thank you!! Shout out to Mario and the other bartender as well, I am sorry I don’t remember his name, but they were both so kind and full of smiles. Loved their energy.
Last but certainly not least, the housekeeping staff! Wonderful job and they were so kind when I would see them, thank you!
Great job Westin staff, you provided a great stay!

Best hospitality
Pros:

​👍​ to “ It's been a few weekends since my amazing stay at The Westin Gaslamp District. Im still reminiscing about the great trip. It all started with Marjorie at check in. Great great customer service and hospitality.
From Marjorie, I met James at the hotel bar after taking my bags to my room. James was great at recommending places to eat and things to do that weren't very touristy. He was also great at saying hello and checking in when I would run into him throughout my stay. We talked about where I'd been and how the experience had been.
Breakfast the two days of my trip, I was helped by Ricardo. He was very hospitable and kind. When I was sick he was kind enough to pack up some breakfast so I could enjoy the amenity in the comfort of my room. Couldn't ask for a better person to start my day with.
Overall, my stay at The Westin Gaslamp District was 10/10 would highly recommend and would definitely return ”

A moment of generosity and kindness!
Pros:

I stayed at the Westin for my best friend’s birthday weekend. I was heading home on Monday morning and unfortunately had to return to the hotel because my flight was changed until 10pm. I was so bummed and on the verge of tears. Within moments of sitting alone in the lobby Juan A. approached me and said, “I remember you from
last night, do you need anything? Can I get you some water? Juan made what seemed like the worst day of my life the best day of my life with his beautiful smile and warm presence. He was so kind and took such great care of me in food and beverage. Thank you Juan I will always remember my trip to the Westin in San Diego because of you. Keep
shining and being your authentic self. ❤️ Also, thank you to his Food and Beverage Manager Jagger McMillin, you both are quite the team.

Cons:

The food in the hotel restaurant is mid at best. The guacamole was bland, and my kale salad had NO KALE lol but iceberg instead.

Great stay
Pros:

The hotel was just what we needed being central to restaurants, harbor, and downtown. Zozima from the front desk team helped pick out amazing restaurants and things for us to do around San Diego. She had an amazing attitude and zest for fun! We absolutely loved her and appreciated her recommendations!
