At check in, I was greeted by Kari and she was so warm and welcoming! She gave us some great tips on local food recommendations and was very pleasant to deal with. She was kind and professional and I really enjoyed my stay.

The Marriott Downtown is centrally located for easy access to downtown Jacksonville and the riverfront. I hadn't stayed at the property since it was rebranded from the Omni, but as a Bonvoy Ambassador elite member, I was happy to check it out.

The rooms have been given a cosmetic remodel, but many parts of the building still date it, such as the interior of the elevators and some fixtures in the rooms. My river-view room was clean, and I appreciated that the renovation added hard floor surfaces instead of carpets, which can hide dirt and spills.

Service was great, especially from the front desk team. The valets were prompt with my car whenever I called ahead.

With so many older properties, downtown Jacksonville's hotel selection can leave a lot to be desired, but it's nice to have a refreshed, remodeled option in the mix.

Location to the fireworks was great. Valet was fabulous as was the staff. Room was nice. Breakfast buffet was good.

I absolutely LOVED coming back from work and having dinner at the hotel. My server for the last 4 nights in a row was Aurielle … she was the BEST!!! So very personable as well as professional …. outstanding personality!! I love her 🥰💗💕.

Great hotel! Staff was friendly, greeting you like friends each time you saw them. Bellhop Tony made us feel like family, and we enjoyed visiting with him everyday. Location was good for the reason for our stay. Rooms clean and comfortable. Food was great! Breakfast buffet very good with wide selection of foods. Sharon Russell is a great cook and made sure everything was replenished. Delicious cooking Sharon! For evening, I highly recommend the chicken, bacon, and corn chowder! Special shoutout to our waitress Deborah and front desk manager Erving. There was an issue with our room fridge, and they went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and the problem was fixed. Thank you! Will definitely stay here again when in town.

Food excellent. Sharon Russell the cook made better grits than a famous diner in town, bacon perfect, eggs fluffy. Such a great selection! Our waitress Deborah was so upset that nothing had been done for us when I told her that our food spoiled in our fridge because it was not working. She said that is not how we take care of our clients here at the Marriott. Next thing I know her supervisor Bob hand delivered cheesecake to our table, and advised that it was on them. The front desk manager Erving also gave us some complimentary breakfast buffets. All three of them really took care of us! We felt like we really mattered. Thank you so much!

My constructive advice is that the pool is in sore need of being redone! This is the reason for my 4 stars overall. You can feel the liner at the bottom of the pool slipping and moving when you walk on it. Also, the cement surface around the pool has many areas where there is broken cement with uneven surfaces that you can trip on and stones and debris that hurt when stepped on with bare feet. Certainly a safety issue. Also the pool walls had a dirty line at the water level, indicating the pool is not being cleaned as it should be. Not what I expect from a Marriott. Hope the pool gets priority for updating and maintenance because it really is a lovely area to enjoy.

Very convenient location (although a bit hard to find due to road work in the area). Large, bright room and both dinner and breakfast dining available in house.
