Nice place, clean and staff was friendly. Good value for what we paid.
It would have been nice if parking was a bit more straightforward. We parked in the garage across the street and we came and went a few times, so paying for parking was a bit expensive. I'm not sure if that garage was the best value given how we had to come and go.
During my recent stay, I noticed a consistent lack of engagement from several members of the front desk and restaurant staff. From check‑in to check‑out, the interactions felt transactional rather than welcoming. Staff often appeared disengaged, and there was little warmth, enthusiasm, or effort to create a positive guest experience.
For example, at check‑in I greeted the front desk associate and asked how she was doing, but she did not acknowledge the question and immediately moved into the check‑in script. When I mentioned that this was my first stay, the overview of the hotel amenities was delivered so quickly that it was difficult to follow. When I asked about things to do in downtown Richmond, I was handed a stapled packet without any personal recommendations or guidance. When I asked for a map, I was told they no longer had any and that I should use my phone. These interactions weren’t limited to one individual — the overall demeanor of the front desk team felt similarly unapproachable.
The cumulative effect was that I felt more like an inconvenience than a guest, to the point where I hesitated to approach staff for assistance.
I want to emphasize that this feedback does not apply to the valet team. They were consistently friendly, helpful, and upbeat — a clear example of the level of customer service guests appreciate and remember.
Overall the hotel and the experience do not justify the price per night. If you are staying in a property in this price range, I strongly urge you to consider another property.
Our king premier room was spacious and comfortable. The shower was great :)
The location was perfect. We traveled to Richmond to see a show and our hotel was a ten minute walk to the venue. The room was also clean, and the lobby was sparkling. The door man was very attentive and the valet service was quick and speedy.
The pool was closed during our stay. I did choose this location primarily for the pool, so I was very disappointed. Our room was comfortable, but any time the air kicked on, a loud, piercing buzzing would sound in the room. It hurt my ears.
