Bali Hai Beachfront Resort and Spa

Awesome location! Beatrice went absolutely ballistic with her service towards us!!

Checked into a 2 bedroom pool view suite and found bedbugs in the king room (live bugs, plentiful). Hotel front desk personnel came to inspect and verified so we moved our things out of room and searched for alternate hotel or rental but unfortunately it was spring break week and there were zero openings anywhere on the island. After some time they moved us to a different room but it was less than ideal as we kept our clothes we had worn in the first room in a trash bag all week, and never unpacked our suitcases into drawers as we were not convinced the 2nd room didn’t also have bugs.

Most disappointing was a manager never even called us. The only thing we were offered was from the front desk and it was a $200 refund for the “resort fee” from Day 1. We paid $7500 for 4 nights, I would expect at that cost to be compensated much more significantly and the hotel to treat bed bugs much more seriously. We will now have to deal with this when we get home to be sure no risk of transfer to our home.

The location was great and beaches beautiful. The staff at the front desk and pool lounge were very friendly.

You are steps from the beach.

There is quite a bit of misleading and inconsistent information across Google, Expedia, and TripAdvisor for this property. It would really benefit from a full reconciliation by the owner, as it is not a true “resort” and several advertised amenities are either inaccurate or unavailable. Unfortunately, the price point does not align with the overall experience.

If you’re expecting convenience, note that the coffee shop doesn’t open until 8:00 AM and closes at 7:00 PM.

**Pros:**
Customer service was excellent, and the location is a major highlight—you’re just steps from the beach. Free parking is a plus, and the room was clean upon arrival. I also appreciated their effort to be more eco-conscious by using glass instead of plastic in the rooms. Complimentary arrival drinks were a nice touch, and the free rental bikes were a great perk.

**Cons:**
There are no beach cabanas (only three by the pool, not beachfront), no champagne service, and room service is very delayed (not available until after 3 PM). The charcoal grill area shown on the arrival map does not exist. There was no working ice machine and no ice provided in the room freezer. There is also no true poolside bar—just a small indoor convenience/bar area. Additionally, there is no continental breakfast, and it’s unclear whether the pool is actually heated.

Overall, while the location and staff are strong, the lack of amenities and inconsistencies make it difficult to justify the cost.

Beautiful property directly on a stunning beach. Beautiful location. Lovely warm swimming pool with really comfortable loungers. Beach loungers were not comfortable. What we weren't told is there is extensive building work going on so in the Monday it was very noisy with a lot of mess and builders working

It’s a beautiful resort and is right on the beach. However, their lack of flexibility is a concern. Our flight ended up getting canceled due to weather up north. Unfortunately, the Bali Hai resort was not flexible at all. They wanted to charge us MORE than we were already paying per night in order to add an additional night, which we kindly declined. We then asked to check out 1 hour later so we could figure out where to go next and they would not accommodate that.

We traveled to Anna Maria Island at the end of January 2026 for 3 nights. When we arrived we were disappointed that the property was under extensive construction. The whole building facing the ocean was gutted and under construction. The noise and sights of the construction was something we did not expect! No where on their website or in the emails from the property managers was there any indication that construction would be going on. It was hard to relax by the pool or on the beach. One day they must have been cutting tile or stone and silica dust was in the air across the pool area.
Some positives: the staff was very friendly and the room we had was clean. They offered 2 welcome beverages from their lounge. When we asked to check out early, they could not refund our money but tried to remedy the situation by offering us a credit for another stay or to move to another location down the beach. When we declined their offers they did give us a 10% refund for our stay.
A couple other things about the room: the fan for the heat/ac unit was very loud. The bathtub drain did not have a cover and the deadbolt lock on our door did not work. The bedroom furniture was on the cheap side. The mattress seemed too small for the bed.
I don’t usually leave ratings on places but I feel that if you are planning on spending a good amount of money for a room, it should be worth it! Anna Maria island is a beautiful spot! We hope to return someday but will not stay at Bali Hai Beach Resort again.

En perle av et hotell på stranden på vakre Anna Maria Island. Rommet var lite, men hadde alt jeg trengte. Rent og fint. Komfortabel seng, flott bad og gode badeprodukter. Kjøleskapet hadde gratis vann på glassflasker. Det var god kaffe på rommet, og stedet var utrolig rolig og fredelig. Fra rommet gikk du rett ut på stranden med kritthvit sand, turkis hav og masse pelikaner og andre fugler. Gratis solsenger og parasoller til gjester, pluss gratis sykler om du ønsket å utforske området på sykkel. Veldig praktisk å gå til nærliggende spisesteder, eller bare langs den utrolig flotte stranden. Anbefales sterkt!

Room was lovely as well as pool area. Bar tender was great as well.

We loved the location and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. The kitchen was well stocked and had full sized appliances. The bed was very comfortable. The pool was very nice and clean. It was nice having the lounge right beside the pool to get drinks and snacks.

Clean and nicely renovated. The grounds were well kept. Pool, lounge were nice and not overcrowded. Great location with easy access to pool and the beach.
