Hotel bien situé, avec un personnel très accueillant. Très bonne expérience.
Pas grand chose en fait
The breakfast was very enjoyable. There was lots of choice and you could even have a pot of tea! The staff were very hard working in the breakfast room, always clearing away pots and replenishing the food, cups and cutlery.
We found the staff on reception were helpful and cheerful.
The roof top bar is definitely a bonus.
We enjoyed it all. There are no negatives.
This hotel is 15-20minutes walk from the square near to the trevi fountain.
There are good restaurants nearby Le Grande across from the hotel is reasonable and great choice of food.
Reception staff are very informative and polite.
The bedroom is adequate but can get really hot so we opened the window when in the room.
The rooftop bar is a plus for this hotel but when your drinks arrive with the crisps and nuts beware there are some cheeky seagulls and not shy pigeons.
Breakfast was great to fill you up for the day. Bacon, little sausages and scrambled eggs. Meats and cheeses, fruit cereal and yogurts and lots of patisserie delights!
Our top recommendation would be do the hop on hop off bus this covers all the sites and can be picked up at Barberini square gate 8 we used Big Bus.
Great city break with lovely base at hotel marcella royal.
Long story short fantastic stay, good sized rooms and food and drink where well made. This may not be in the centre of the city but it's close enough to the metro, buses and taxis can be phoned from the front desk to take you further afield
Me and my partner stayed here for the 6 nations (Scotland vs italy) and from the moment we stepped in to the hotel we were made to feel welcome. The front reception workers all spoke perfect English, told us how to get places and even suggested local restaurants for meals. The rooms were a good size and we DID have a kettle, we had a room at the back of the hotel so quiet and a decent size.
Breakfast was standard Continental perfect when you need energy to walk around the city all day, but what made me personally smile immediately was I am gluten intolerant. And they had a sperate area with pre packaged breakfast items.
Rooms were cleaned to a high standard and knowing they could phone a taxi from the front desk and it be there within 5 minutes AND they would tell you the ID number of the taxi so you could just relax without the worry of getting scammed
The hotel is also within walking distance of the main train station, metro stops and buses. So although your not city centre staying, it's just as good without the extra business
And the rooftop restaurant/bar the best way to start and end your day.
Highly recommend
From the moment we arrived in Rome, our experience at this hotel was nothing short of outstanding. Perfectly located within walking distance of major landmarks like the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain, it made exploring the city effortless and enjoyable.
The staff were welcoming, professional, and always ready to help with recommendations, reservations, and directions. Their warmth made us feel at home immediately.
Our junior suite was spotless, beautifully designed, and spacious for a city hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after long days of sightseeing.
Breakfast each morning was delicious, offering a wide selection of fresh pastries, fruits, pancakes and authentic Italian coffee. It was the perfect way to start a day in the City. The view from the restaurant over the city was an added bonus.
What truly set this hotel apart was the atmosphere: elegant yet relaxed, luxurious yet welcoming. Everything ran smoothly, and it genuinely enhanced our entire trip to Rome.
We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and exceptional service in Rome. 🇮🇹
We stayed for 5 nights. The reception staff were welcoming and spoke English. We were given a city map that highlighted popular tourist attractions in relation to the hotel.
Our room was adequate for our needs and was cleaned daily. There was no kettle but this was stated and I think it was possible to hire one. Our room was overlooking the front of the hotel and if you close the shutters and windows was quiet to sleep.
Breakfast was continental and there was plenty of choice. Scrambled egg, streaky bacon and small hot dog style sausages were also available.
All staff were polite and friendly.
We ate a couple of evenings at the rooftop restaurant. A couple of errors on food were rectified.
Popular attractions were 20-35 mins walk away. For the Vatican museum we got an Uber as it was way too far and complicated to walk.
There are plenty of restaurants close by.
Spotlessly clean hotel with excellent room service , towels were changed every day, which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was amazing, offering a wide variety of choices, and the staff were fantastic. Everyone around the hotel, including reception, was super friendly and welcoming.
The rooftop is a real bonus, especially on a nice day, with such a great view. It’s about a 30-minute walk to the main attractions, but once you figure out the best route, it’s absolutely fine.
Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel — great value for our stay!
Looked at this hotel and the reviews seemed reasonable so booked for three nights. What a choice! The staff are amazing, the rooms beautiful and the whole hotel has an amazing ambience. It is located in a little side street about ten minutes walk from Termini station. The famous sites in Rome are very spread out across the city but with metro stations and bus stops very close its really easy to get around. From walking through the door, the amazing reception staff, the porters, the restaurant and rooftop bar staff, the cleaning staff all went above and beyond. The rooftop bar and restaurant whilst a little expensive is such a relaxing place after a busy day exploring this wonderful city. If we ever make it back to this wonderful city we will need to look no further than Marcella, it was perfect!
Rooftop bar/restaurant
No kettle in room
Staff were all helpful and charming Rooftop bar and eating area were great.
Fabulous Trip to Rome, would highly recommend the Marcella Royal Hotel. We had upgraded our room to a Superior which was on the 4th floor (room 416) good room for what we need for our 4 night stay. The room and bathroom was absolutely immaculate, with 2 bottles of water complementary left in your fridge everyday. We had also booked Breakfast which was great value for money, choice of Bacon, Scrambled Egg & Sausages, fabulous choice of pastries, chesses, meats, yogurts, fruit, cereal & toast. The fresh croissants were amazing, filled with a choice of milk chocolate, white chocolate or custard.
The staff in the breakfast room were really friendly and polite. We also visited the roof top terrace for drinks in the evening and again what a fantastic view and great service.
The reception staff were so helpful and advised us on places to visit with directions and maps so a special thank you to Gianluca & Giovanna for all your help and recommendations, its much appreciated.
The hotel is well situated with good restaurants all within a 5 minute walk.
Thank you for a great stay!
Great location. Spotlessly clean and staff were so friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Posizione gentilezza hotel fantastico
Aver subito un furto in stanza
Having booked 4 nights in Rome with Jet2, we arrived early at the hotel and were immediately struck by the very high standard of the reception area. Our bags were stored, then delivered to our rooms, so we were able to go exploring immediately. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from most of the main attractions.
On our return, we watched the sunset and spectacular starling murmuration from the spacious rooftop terrace, with a delicious champagne cocktail!
The room itself was spacious, very well equipped and spotlessly clean and was kept that way on subsequent days.
We didn’t eat dinner in the hotel, but the breakfast choice was excellent. It was also refilled, so all items were always available.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location was also excellent for a number of small eating places just a few minutes away.
We’d definitely recommend and hope to return one day.
This was an amazing Hotel in a good spot for walking to sites. All staff here are helpful and friendly. We felt really welcomed and at home here. The rooftop bar was a real highlight and we spent every evening up there. Hotel was well looked after and clean. Staff very happy to arrange the taxi back to the airport (£55 euro) We would definitely come here again.
We have just stayed here for a long weekend Friday to Monday. Two couples having a break from the teenagers. We found this hotel so welcoming by all staff we met. It had a family vibe around the place. We felt very relaxed and comfortable in and around the hotel. The restaurant and breakfast area are well looked after by staff and aleays welcomed anytime of day for a drink or food. We spent every evening on the roof top bar area looking out across Rome. Watching fireworks in the hills and the beautiful views. It was a highlight to this hotel. From Reception staff to waiters and waitresses everyone was helpful and friendly. A real feature this hotel should be proud off. We would definitely stay here again
