The property is clean and well maintained. Staff was very friendly

Cons:

Wish there was bay access with sand to relax and let the kids play more. The pool is rather small but nice. The pool towels is confusing. If you don’t return them at the pool there is a charge.

Beautiful property and location but needs a refresh - please remove the carpet
Pros:

I love the Mission Bay Area. The property’s location was its appeal. The landscaping, views, and proximity to beaches were great! Enjoyed the Lanai. Staff provided good service especially at the Firefly.

Cons:

It’s a shame for such a beautifully located and landscaped property, the rooms are pretty dated and in need of a refresh. There is carpet in most of the room and it was filthy. I had to wear shoes because my feet were black on the bottom from walking on it, which was disgusting. I think the carpet was also the source of a terrible musty smell and excess dust in the room. I almost thought it would be intolerable, but improved with airing out the room. They need to do a remodel and rip out all of the carpet. It would improve the stay immensely and be cleaner. I don’t hold housekeeping responsible for the smell, I think they did what they could do. I also found the resort fee and parking at $35 a day to feel nickel and dimey and a bit extreme, especially when parking is free at the parks in the area. I’d rather just pay more for a renovated room that includes all fees in the price. Lastly, I did not like the body products. They smelled bad and felt cheap.

Second time at The Dana and will be back! My favorite place to stay in San Diego!
Pros:

Absolutely beautiful property with great views of the marina. Enjoyed the ambiance and the restaurant was delicious. I suggest upgrading to the rooms with the balcony- 100% worth it!
