The Radisson Montevideo benefits from a central location in the city; however, this aspect did not ultimately enhance our stay. While being in the downtown area may seem convenient, we found that the surroundings felt rather unsafe and uncomfortable, particularly after dark. In retrospect, we would recommend considering accommodation in Punta Carretas or further east, where the environment appears more pleasant and secure.
Our room was located on the 21st floor and faced the cargo port. Unfortunately, the view was quite bleak and contributed to an overall uninspiring atmosphere. More concerning was a strong and persistent smell of mold in the room. As the windows could not be opened, there was no way to ventilate the space, which made the stay less comfortable. Fortunately, we only spent one night at the hotel.
The breakfast offering was rather limited and did not meet expectations in terms of variety or quality. Additionally, the overall guest profile felt somewhat unusual and not in line with what one would typically expect from a Radisson property elsewhere in the world.
In general, the property appears dated and would significantly benefit from renovation and modernization. While the hotel may have once offered a higher standard, its current condition does not fully meet expectations associated with the Radisson brand. It is, in fact, somewhat surprising that this hotel is part of the Radisson chain, as the brand’s reputation was a key factor in our decision to book it—something we would reconsider in the future.
In summary, despite choosing this hotel for its central location and brand affiliation, we found that both the immediate surroundings and the hotel itself did not provide the level of comfort, quality, and security we were expecting.
Good location walking distance to the lovely port market, teatro solis etc. Large rooms with comfortable beds but very dated, plumbing needs upgrading and awful thin towels. The bathroom looks like it's been partially upgraded but really needs an overhaul.
Breakfast is good and served on 25th floor with great views.
Fabrizio on the front desk was super helpful.

Great pool, great location!
Parking is very expensive, it's ok to park on the streets or the square, specially on the weekends. The parking lot isn't even in the hotel, is outside and you have to walk to the hotel. The first clerk who we spoke to made us wait to start the check in process, we arrived 2:50 and he made us wait 10min. We noticed that other clerks were welcoming other guests and already finishing their check in. Then when his colleague started our check in, he came by the front desk and waved goodbye to all the colleagues, what led us to believe he didn't want to check us in simply because it was about time his shift ended. And in the end, there was this loud hammering noise, like someone was fixing something or hammering a nail, and that was absolute hell! I tried calling the front desk to warn them and the noise stopped. For about 7 minutes. And then hell all over again.
