Location to airport and Tampa area. We ate at First Watch and it was delicious. We enjoyed everything around the hotel. We took a walk down the Riverwalk in downtown Tampa.
There was no breakfast although it was supposed to be included. But we went to First Watch and it made up for it. It rained a lot while we were there.
The location was perfect for Busch Gardens.
The information sent by the hotel prior to check-in was inaccurate. Breakfast ran until 9, not 10, and it was completely shut down by 9 on the dot. It was packed, so there wasn't room to sit, and I felt rushed. Ran out of items at 8:15 and acted inconvenienced to get them. Info said pool was open until 10 pm, but they said dusk. Turned out that it didn't matter as the pool was very dirty. Was told they have a Busch Gardens shuttle. Scheduled it. Was bumped coming back as the driver said we weren't on the list (we watched the woman write it down), and he said they overbooked, anyway. Had to wait. Ended up driving the next day and paid for parking. Hotel did not feel very customer-focused, and it didn't have the quality I expect from prior experiences at a Hyatt. And when I shared this, there was a comment about my reserving on Booking.com. It felt as if I shouldn't expect quality when booking through something other than direct, but frankly it's difficult to get someone to answer when calling direct.
Everything was clean and elegant
An indoor pool would have been nice or pool hours that extend past dusk.
The property was clean and nice and quiet.
Front desk clerks were pleasant upon check-in and out. During the middle of the night we realized the air conditioner dripped on the outside ledge loud enough that you could hear it inside when the air conditioner was off. Nothing like a loud drip to keep you awake! The pillows were teeny, tiny and terrible -so bring your own. And the toilet/ shower area was very old and very outdated! I had chunks of porcelain missing out of the bathtub, which were 3 rusty areas, there was also mildew and/or grout missing! (I saw this the next morning or we would have left)! The back of the door was scratched up and peeling, patchy paint on the walls, and an empty bottle of shower gel hanging in the shower.
You better get to breakfast early in the morning because they stopped stocking at about 8:30 and if you’re in the last 1/2 hour, you get nothing, not even water, not even orange juice. Everything will be gone, and the breakfast ladies are not accommodating. They will not refill…because it is almost time to close and they are already in cleanup mode . Even when it’s 30 minutes before shutdown… when we go back to Tampa we will definitely NOT stay at this hotel!
I have made a good-faith effort to resolve this issue with the general manager but every time I call she's in a meeting. As of today she has not returned my calls or emails.
I have traveled on business for 45 years and have never encountered this much noise in a hotel. Some school group was staying there and neither the staff nor the parents made any effort to deal with it. It started when I left for dinner around 8:15 and had to wait a long time for the elevator because four kids appeared
to be riding up and down. I reported that to the front desk and both of the staff members just nodded. I returned around 10 p.m. and the same four kids were still riding up and down the elevators. I mentioned it to the same desk attendants
and they chuckled. "Yes, we were just laughing about that with the parents," they said. The parents were sitting nearby eating pizza and apparently they thought it was funny also.
The elevator nonsense kept going once I was back in the room, and that was a problem because I was in 514 -- right next to the elevator. After midnight the kids were no longer going up and down the elevator but were now just running up and
down the hall. These kids were too young to be outside their room after midnight, and certainly too young to be running up and down the hallway.
When I checked out Thursday morning I mentioned this to a different staff member who said she was going to give me points that I could apply to my next visit. But since I will not stay there again, I don't know what good that does. I would much prefer to have the second night of my stay comped, since I barely slept due to the noise.
This was disgusting. As you enter the hotel. the lobby was dirty and unkept. we had to find another place to stay because the hyatt we had reserved had a water main break and we normally love Hyatt but was shocked at how trashy this place was. We decided to take a look at our room. the floors in the hotel were dirty and the elevator was dirty too. We walked into there room and turned around and left. Totally unacceptable. Smelled terrible throughout the hotel. We checked out and told them we cannot stay in a place like this. Abby at the front desk was extremely nice and understanding. She issued us a refund on the spot.
Convenient to Moffitt Cancer center. Great breakfast!
Air conditioning was hard to adjust at first.
