Great location. Fabulous breakfast. Walking distance to main attractions
Location was fabulous across from the train station and an easy walk to attractions and the Royal Mile. Rooms were really well done. Great bed, towels, very clean and the restaurant/lounge was great. I will recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Edinburgh.
Gunstige locatie, mooie kamers, goed ontbijt.
Lovely staff and great location.
The smallest room in the world. We couldn’t even open the fridge or wardrobe door. This should have been made clear at time of booking or check in.
Excellent situation and warm helpful staff.
We enjoyed inviting friends to the bar in the early evening which was a good experience.
Last time we stayed, the breakfast was poor but we had hopes for this time. Sadly it was really disappointing.
Coffee and porridge were good but the savoury pancakes and bacon were dreadful ! (dry stale pancakes and tough streaky bacon) The bacon with that dish needs to be thin and crisp ! )
My husband chose a blueberry muffin hoping for good Scottish baking ! but it was the usual synthetic damp mass produced effort.
Brilliant room, spacious & very comfortable…loved the views of the city.
Shower cap in toilet
The staff were excellent, the breakfast was excellent, the location is excellent.
The bed was a little uncomfortable.
The price of £15:95 for a large white wine was not good value, the service charge of 12 and a half per cent included in price was very disappointing.
Very central location. Hotel was very clean. Staff were all lovely. The decor is quirky, warm and embracing. Nice to go in for food/drinks even if you are not staying over.
We were in room 404. There is a gap around the bedroom door which allows the light to shine through which was annoying when I was trying to sleep. Bring an eye mask.
Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and catered for my coeliac dietary requirement.
The room was too dark. There was no central lighting. Relying on a few lamps resulted in dark shadows which made it difficult to see anything dropped on the floor. The sink area in the bathroom was dark making it difficult to see to apply makeup or shave. There was no surface here to put any toiletries either - quite possibly the worst sink area I have encountered in a hotel bathroom.
Second visit to this hotel, following a stay in a similar room (King Suite City View) last year that went well, this one showed a drop in their standards. Smart room (402) on first appearance. First noticed TV didn't work as 'weak or no signal'. Then tried to open windows, one kept sliding shut again. On checking out the shower room (nice and clean) noticed a switch on the wall between the shower cubicle and door that had a sharp brass spindle sticking out ready to catch clothing, or worse, skin. The control knob was obviously missing. Then, when showering later, the shower tray nearly flooded, turned out the chrome cap on the trap had been broken and just sat on the tray blocking it. Pushing it to the side cleared the water, just in time. And then the bracket holding the soap dispenser fell apart. How these got past the housekeeping crew only they know. Add to the poor service in the lounge bar (after seating us, the server totally ignored us) that was noticed by a few others, the service has definitely went downhill. The receptionist on checking out, professional as she was, did ask why we didn't ask about the niggles found above beforehand but what would have been done for a two day stay? We don't usually have much trouble with IHG hotels but adding in Edinburgh premium pricing they really should have done better here.
The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and offered suggestions for places to visit and eat.
They held my luggage and put it in my room before I arrived.
The hotel is in downtown Munich. It is across from the train station and also a bus that costs $6 to take you to the airport. Many places to eat and shop. A mall nearby with all the name brands.
