Welcoming staff .. easy parking close to motorway

The bath was dirty steaks all in the tub had to put a towel in the tub to stand on

Poor communication from staff, tv was not working, coffee mugs and towels were stained. Staff not contactable
Very clean and comfortable, no issues with check-in or out, staff very polite, helpful and friendly. We spent a long time in the lounge area after returning from our evening out on most evenings during our stay, and the staff were very accommodating to our needs and very friendly. I would happily stay here again
I would like to add that the review about the rat in the lobby was incorrect, it was a tiny field mouse than ran through the front door and got scared and confused, I was actually the person trying to catch it, to release it back outside where it obviously wanted to be, not being chased around and terrified by people 100 times it's size, until some disgusting guest stamped on it...not the hotels fault, and the hotel was immaculately clean
Only 2 small things spoilt it a little. Firstly a group of us brought in a takeaway one afternoon, which we were eating it in the lounge area together, half way through a member of staff approached us and said it wasn't permitted to eat food from outside in the public lounge area and that we would have to move, one of our group refused as we were clearly half way through eating, and didn't want the remaining food to get cold, that member of staff went away, and then returned saying that the duty manager said we would be able to finish our food, we said thank you and that we had no information about this policy before bringing the food in, and that we'd clear up any mess before vacating the lounge area, which we did. In my opinion, that situation would have been handled better if the person approaching us used a little common sense and informed us of the policy and kindly asked us if we could finish our food as quickly as possible, and please refrain from eating take away food in the lounge area in future as it's not usually permitted. It was obvious we were not going to uproot having gotten halfway through our food already, and we were totally unaware that this was a policy of the hotel.
Secondly, on the last evening of our stay there were two members of staff on the night desk, one of which was a man mopping the entire reception floor area and the other a lady on the main desk, the man mopping got very disgruntled with us and commented about us walking over his mopped floor to get to the lift to our room and the lady behind the desk looked at us and pulled a face like she was disgusted that we'd walked over a tiny slither of the floor to get to the lift. I have worked in hospitality, and the only thing that would have been said, was please mind that you don't slip, as I've just mopped the floor, and then when the customers had left the area, simply re-mop the small area walked on. These are the only issues we had.
