Pros:

Great location, clean and comfortable rooms and terrific staff. Breakfast is a must!

Cons:

Over the weekend there was quite a bit of noise from a group outside the hotel and it was a bit worrying walking past the group to get home from across the walking bridge leading to Palmer street.

Great holiday in Townsville. Would definitely stay at Grand Chancellor again.
Pros:

Great location. Supermarket close by to pick up our supplies, also convenience store next door. Short walk over footbridge to Palmer St for lots of dinner options. Steak houses, Mexican, Indian, pub food. Further down Flinders St for the night clubs. The Strand about 20min walk away, albeit over a big hill, but still do-able. Ferry terminal walking distance too. Even though location is in city, roads are still very quiet. Street closes on a Sunday morning for street markets. Fresh fruit and knick-knacks available. Rooms have good heavy curtains and great soundproofing.
Restaurant food and service was great. Acceptable dinning price. We didn't do breakfast but looks like it would have been a big buffet style. Pool on top floor with 360o views.
Reception staff very helpful and friendly.

Cons:

For us, the pillows were a bit hard, but that was our personal views.

Good for a short 2-3 day stay.
Pros:

Daily Room Clean, proximity to shops.

Cons:

No microwave or plates or silverware.

Our room had an interconnected door to another room. Our room had a lock that was broken and it was unlocked so the people from the other room had access whenever

Convenient. Quiet. Centrally located. Very good staff.
Pros:

Very convenient to city. Quiet. Restuarants near by. Very clean and tidy. The staff were very helpful and accomodating.

Cons:

Smallest TV in the world. Who has a 20" LCD TV anymore! Apparently car parking was full so glad we didnt bring a car.

This is a beautiful hotel, i love that you check out at 11am. Our room has alot of space in it and it so clean too. The view is so amazing.
