The stay was ok. Just don’t appreciate being over charged for certain things.
Pros:

Nicely decorated and fairly comfortable. Loved a shower that had very good flow.

Cons:

The bathroom brass fixtures really needed polishing. I feel like the parking fees are a ripoff at $52 a night and self parking is not allowed. Also, a bottle of water in the room was $7. So it seems whatever they’re not making on the room rates, they make up for it in other ways.

Great amenities at a comfortable property
Pros:

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. At first, I wasn’t really sure about the furnishings, etc., but I loved the bathroom, and my room was super quiet on the 10th floor. I had a great view, and the room was really huge! The best part of this hotel I think is the incredible gym and pool area— the best hotel gym I’ve ever seen, and a comfortable, stylish pool with lots of good seating. The Westgate has a lot to offer at a reasonable price.

Memorable Stay 😊
Pros:

Our stay was wonderful and seamless here. We were greeted and assisted by Ivan to check us in. He made our stay memorable from start to finish. We got a suite and it exceeded our expectations - would definitely stay here again! Thanks Ivan!

Amazing view, great location!
Pros:

This hotel was so incredibly beautiful. We had an amazing view and they treated us so well! It was super clean and all the workers were very helpful and super professional. The location is perfect too! It was definitely a hotel I will brag about and will continue to book when I make my way down to SD!

Fantastic hotel and staff, very noisy train nearby.
Pros:

The hotel is very nice, the staff is great and the rooftop pool was a fantastic place to relax. It’s in a nice area so you can walk to restaurants and shops.

Cons:

Huge downside is that it is directly next to the train and you can hear the horn and announcements from the train at all hours. I’m not sure if staying in a different part of the hotel would be less noisy but I found it really disruptive. Maybe try requesting a quieter area of the hotel.

Pros:

Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch das Valet war ok. Das Parkhaus hat den direkten Zugang zum Hotel ohne das man durch die Strasse ins Hotel laufen muss, was es für uns etwas "sicherer" gemacht hat. Die Zimmer sind sehr gross und schön.

Cons:

Die Lage ist nicht toll. Es ist in Downtown und direkt neben dem Civic Center was nicht schön war. Ebenso den Zug oder Tram durch die Nacht ist sehr störend, da die Fenster nicht abgedichtet sind bzw für diesen Lärm ausgestattet.

The Westgate is the only place you should stay in San Diego
Pros:

My mom and I stayed at the Westgate and had the best time! The hotel and the rooms are beautiful, and the beds are super comfortable. The service is fantastic, huge shout out to Joe who made our stay so special and knew so much about the hotel’s history. Everyone here has great recommendations for things to do around town, and the central location makes it easy to get around. The restaurant is delicious as well, we got the lemon ricotta pancakes and the eggs Benedict. We can’t wait to visit San Diego again and come back to our favorite hotel.
