stay away
Pros:

Leaving their property.

Cons:

Everything, the front desk person was frighting, unwelcoming, creepy and provided us with a room that was occupied by someone else.

Pros:

The hotel is beautiful and vintage with a great vibe. The room had a super comfy bed and couch. I had a fantastic long late night conversation with one of the incredibly interesting employees. I would stay here again.

Cons:

No complaints tbh.

Love our stay. So many more positives that absolutely outweigh the parking issue. Loved the staff!!!
Pros:

Comfortable and clean rooms, cafe opened “after hours” (amazing!!!!), and last but not least!, the staff was wonderful!!!! My friends and I will definitely be staying again when we come to town, whether together or with other family/friends.

Cons:

Parking kinda sucks and the parking lots a block or so down are not safe, as car windows get broken😑 parking in front of hotel is $5.40 every 2 hours during certain times and it’s safe but gets expensive and time consuming.

Not ideal. Covered in homeless people. Unsafe location.
Pros:

The bed was comfortable and the space was decent.

Cons:

Unfortunately I cannot review this hotel highly. First, the listing said parking on premise. But we were told when we got there that there’s just street parking that you have to pay every 2 hours?! Or to find a parking lot in the city.
Second, the location is not great or safe. There was mobs of homeless people around that street and corner, even sitting on the steps of the hotel. They had charity feeding right across the street which brought in a ton of them. After which we had a great view of of them fighting and digging through trash from our window.
Third, the room was not well maintained. The faucet was completely loose, the windows wouldn’t shut all the way and let noise and air in, the one robe was missing its tie, no toilet brush, and the a/c wouldn’t go below 74.
Lastly, the staff wasn’t particularly friendly or kind. Which is surprising for Portland as all other interactions were very nice. They were not helpful in locating parking, restaurants, or advice. They did not acknowledge our presence when we would greet them in passing.
Of course the over all experience wasn’t horrifying but it certainly does not live up to its good reviews.

Pros:

Staff was great, room was what I expected, nice and cozy. Cafe on the premises good pricing. I'll stay again as a solo traveler.

Cons:

No fridge, microwave or coffee in the room, be prepared. Location is good but there's characters outside that are unavoidable so be cautious just like everywhere else. Nothing concerning just observant.

One of the BEST hotels in Portland …..with caveats.
Pros:

Beautiful property so well-organized and comfortable and amazing beds and coffee from the cafe! One of the best in Portland but there are a few caveats…..

Cons:

Front desk staff member was borderline unfriendly and not super helpful. Didn’t seem to know much about the area or local parking possibilities/garages and wasn’t interested in helping in any way.
Also, the local homeless people had a massive pot clanging party with screaming (thought something terrible was happening at first) and shouting and singing from 1.30 am to 3.30am. Woke me up out of a deep sleep. The police finally rolled by with their sirens and the noise stopped. So if I stayed here again I would take a white noise machine.
