A beautiful hotel with all the amenities. I enjoyed it all, my only complaint is the housekeeping. When I checked into my room I only had 1 1/2 rolls for a three day stay. I had to go down and call for more twice. The tissues were also low when I arrived and also werent refilled when they came to clean the room. Nothing major but annoying for me. Otherwise the bed was nice, the view was great although curtain placement could have been better to view the city vs the side of the building. But it was secure, the street entrance and the elevator would only work if you scanned your card. The restaurant was nice, open till 11 most nights. Huge spacious drawers and closet with a good amount of hangers. Made me feel organized and without clutter.
The night auditor has no clue of looking after guests. The reservation was prepaid and he did not know how to charge a card. Quite unlike for the role of a night auditor. Anyway at 4am guest wasnt able to check in as the 'policy' is no check in until they can charge a card for extras. I suppose there should be a policy for 'Training Night Auditor on Customer Service' and basic etiquette
I was then advised the guest was getting upset and abusive.
Sad that hotel takes money, doesnt provide service and then complaints about its guests
We stayed for Fan Expo 2026 at the Oregon Convention Center. Nothing beats this location if you’re attending an event there. Extra convenient, there’s a decent coffee bar adjoining the lobby. This isn’t my first time experiencing this hotel as I’ve stated before with friends whenever visiting Portland. But this was the first time I was less than happy. We arrived early, and they happily held our bags for us until the room was ready. However, when we got to the room it wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. There were food particles in the drawers; a whole potato chip and cookie. There was a large carpet stain by one of the night stands and splatters on the wall by the front door like someone had dropped a beverage. We were tired from our day and just wanted to rest awhile before venturing back out for dinner, so we didn’t ask for a room change. We gave the room a quick wipe down and moved on with our stay. This hotel is good. Great location, friendly and helpful staff, and super convenient amenities available. Better for corporate visitors, rather than families. The years of wear and tear are beginning to show, but all could be overlooked with meticulous cleanliness.
This location was incredible! The hotel itself was amazing, the staff very friendly and great customer service. We used the conference rooms for our Sales Teams Summit. We also ate at the top roof restaurant with great views and amazing food! I can’t wait to host our annual BDM Summit here again! And every time I travel to Portland for business, this will be my go to place!
Done. We drive a couple of hours from the coast looking forward to a lovely stay in Portland regularly! As guests, we have expectations for a smooth, welcoming and quiet experience. This was our fifth stay at this hotel. For any management team that is a golden customer and a golden opportunity to let the customer know they are appreciated. No so here. This time, unfortunately, they were filming something when we tried to check in and it was a disaster from trying to park to reaching the front desk. Which I was rudely told was not allowed. That’s when I realized that the lobby was overcrowded with an arrogant, entitled film crew along with many hanger ons! OMG, totally rude. No arrangement was apparent for the off chance the front desk might be needed at check in time? Not only that but this time we were given a room near the tram and we could hear it and the train all night, add on a very noisy room refrigerator and we did not sleep well. Housekeeping is now only available if ordered the night before— if you request it before midnight. Then, after being told at check out that the price of parking has increased to $43 per night and a not great experience in the restaurant the night before —- we are saying thanks but no thanks and moving on. I mean, really, we can stay at the Benson for the same price, what are they thinking??? The valet, Jason, I should add, saved the day and was super nice and helped us sort through it all. Thanks Jason.
What a disappointment this hotel was. The hotel is built besides Portland's light rail. Apparently, several of the rooms are very susceptible to the light rails continuous noise. We were unfortunate enough to be in one of those rooms. We complained to the from desk about the noise and asked to be moved. They indicated that they were aware of the noise problem in our certain block of rooms but could not move us that night. I would have left but had already prepaid for the room. I got no sleep at all. It was terrible. Upon our departure I reached out to the manager of the hotel and requested compensation for the one night I didn't get any sleep. They offered me a free room upgrade next time I stay there. Well, at this point I have no plans on staying there. After I rejected the managers offer, he ghosted me. I did contact and submitted a complaint with Best Western Corporate, which oversees hotels that use their name. Corporate was very nice but did nothing - they took notes. I was very disappointed on BW Corporate lack of input on how their customers are treated at their associated hotels. At this point I cannot not recommend the Eastlund hotel in Portland nor can I recommend any Best Western hotel for their lack of concern for their customers. This could had been so easy to resolve. But some silly manager stuck his heals in the ground and refused to move. What a disappointment, what a shame.
I have reviewed this property before, so I won’t go into a lot of detail, other than to say it’s always fantastic.
You don’t actually see any Best Western signage any place, but it is part of their Premier Collection.
Immaculately, clean and safe. If you park, they do have valet parking, I usually take the MAX when I’m in downtown Portland, and the convention center station is catty corner from the hotel, less than a two or three minute walk.
Always immaculately clean, reception is friendly and courteous.
Fantastic rooftop restaurant and bar.
Can’t say enough nice things.
Great hotel, within walking distance of the moda center and Max transit system, the restaurant is amazing I would recommend a reservation as tables fill up quickly on busy nights. Had a unhoused man with no shoes on refuse to leave the hotel lobby at 7am but that’s Portland for you.
Clean room and friendly staff. The bathroom is very small and the toilet block almost half of the sink and counter. There was an abstract piece of art over the toilet which features a bunch of brown smears. Hanging over the toilet, one couldn’t help but think it was toilet humor. We had a fifth floor room and the street noise (traffic and trains) was loud and very annoying when trying to get to sleep. There was also a guy on the sidewalk opposite of the hotel obviously doing his drug deals. We watched him for a while and he had lots of customers. Cafe was also closed. This hotel wife is was just meh. Probably wouldn’t stay there again.
Staff was great. Beds were amazing. Very creative style of hotel
Thi room was by the MAX train, so earplugs are very important.
Clean room and kind staff
staff was friendly! great location! clean rooms!
Amazing and so quick
I was a little sad that the wine merchant store was closed. The rooftop tavern was good but service was often slow when it was busy. The room felt a little cramped to have two queen beds in it. But the beds were comfortable. The toilet paper holder was Ina weird location. Great stay though if you doing anything that requires public transit or if you are attending an event at the Oregon convention center.
As always, perfect!
Very clean, large room. Nice space and beautiful rooftop restaurant with nice views.
There are not restaurants with easy walking distance, but their rooftop restaurant was good.
Staff were very friendly, rooms were clean and well stocked, gym is small but reasonably equipped.
The customer service at this hotel was top-notch. From offering greet personalized restaurant recommendations to giving us extra bedding for our little kids to their general friendliness, it felt like they had a genuine desire to take good care of us during our stay. FYI— they check in with their guests by text and you can text them questions anytime, which is super convenient. The beds were a 10 out of 10 in comfort. It’s been a while since we had a great hotel experience and it was a relief to find that it was still possible! Very walkable to MODA CENTER, too.
