I was really pleased to see the plate of Welcome chocolates and the card.

Cons:

I did request an additional box of tissues/Kleenex and I had to repeat my request 3 times before I received it.

I was deeply disappointed by my check-in experience.

I had specifically booked a Supreme Room. However, after completing check-in and going upstairs, I discovered that I had been assigned an accessible room without being informed in advance. To be completely clear, I have no issue whatsoever with accessible rooms or with their purpose. My concern is entirely about the lack of communication, transparency, and choice.

An accessible room has a noticeably different layout and bathroom arrangement from a standard Supreme Room, and I did not feel comfortable with the accommodation. The receptionist should have explained the situation before giving me the key and asked whether I was willing to accept that particular room type. Instead, I only discovered it after entering the room.

I understand that room availability can sometimes be limited, but assigning a materially different room without any disclosure is not what I expect from a luxury hotel or from the Gran Meliá brand. The manner in which this was handled made me feel that the room category I had booked—and my comfort as a guest—were not taken seriously.

This was supposed to be a premium stay, but my first impression was one of frustration and genuine disappointment. I hope management reviews what happened and ensures that guests are properly informed before being assigned a room with a different configuration from the one they reasonably expected.

Very good hotel but not central.
Pros:

Room was very comfortable and well appointed.

Cons:

Egg options for breakfast could have been made more obvious - breakfast was in the Grand Cafe

An extremely emaculate, clean, high level and well situated hotel with excellent amenities.
Pros:

Extremely good and clean.
The downstairs /ground floor sitting areas and lounges were extremely good and spacious and was another holiday space. Could spend a day there without being bored. Lots of facilities and the hotel itself provided additional holiday amenities and adventurer. Must see when you are in Barcelona. Will always come here when we are in Barcelona.

Staff were very smart, presentable and professional.

Cons:

No Pressing irons in the room despite the room being classified as Excutive and hotel being 5 star.
