Disappointing stay among noisy, rambunctious guests in an area of the city many people try to avoid.
Pros:

The staff were all friendly and incredibly helpful and nice. The rooms were mostly clean and comfortable. We had a great view. I enjoyed using the gym. It was nice to be able to access the metro and get groceries or coffee without venturing outside in subzero weather.

Cons:

A huge group of young cheerleaders stayed at the hotel while we were there, bringing noise and chaos. The pool was unusable all weekend—packed and extremely loud. That group of kids roamed the halls, screaming and playing with elevators, sending them to the wrong floors. The location of the hotel was also not ideal. There are several boarded up buildings and a needle exchange nearby. I lived in NYC for 13 years and never once saw a crack pipe. I watched one passed between two people near the hotel within 36 hours of our arrival in Montreal. The attached garage parking is only for sedans and other small cars (max height well under six feet). Our moderate SUV would not fit so we had to park several blocks away without validation, then walk back to the hotel. The alternate garage the hotel sent us to was under construction, which made it hard to find in the dark. All of that added a fair amount of stress to the check in process. The main automatic double entry doors would get stuck so the second set would fail to open. We spent a lot of time waiting to get in or out of the hotel. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone and spent the weekend wishing we had booked somewhere else.

Great value for money, perfect place for our family as a hub to explore Montreal, and comfortable to return to.
Pros:

- Location is well connected, with underground access to Place Dupuis, metro, library.
- Excellent breakfast with lots of choice.
- Pool and sauna are great
- Convenient parking (although the lowest ceiling I’ve ever seen in a parking garage, just worked for our SUV)
- Reasonably priced

- wasn’t able to adjust thermostat
