the stay was most enjoyable. All Persons in the bar were welcoming and obliging. Concierge was excellent.

Lovely property. Amazing staff.
Renovations were awful. Jackhammer all day. Could not come back to the hotel for a rest in the afternoon
Good location and lovely building / lobby
Renovations taking place that we weren’t informed of prior to arriving. Staircase (one of its more prominent features) out of commission. Roof top plunge pool was closed (and whole balcony) despite it being advertised as a feature open April-October in several places (including their in-room info section). Room wasn’t ready in time for check in despite us arriving early to leave bags and being told we’d be called when it was ready. No call and no room until nearly an hour after stated check in. Moved to a room that felt downgraded compared to online images. Bath plug didn’t work, shower gel plunger didn’t work, bed was two joined with a mattress topper that moved around and wasn’t particularly comfortable. All in all I’d save the money and book somewhere else next time.

Lovely Hotel right in the centre of town. Walking distance to everything. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. We loved the cocktail bar, amazing Cocktails! Our premium room was nice, lovely bedding and comfy bed. Big walk in shower but does need a few bits repairing and updating . Well worth doing one of the days excursions trips to the valley but be prepared for a long day.
We were disappointed that the pool and roof top area was closed due to renovation and we were not notified in advance. The hotel renovations are quite noisy so worth checking progress before you book. This is the only reason I haven’t given a full star rating. The manager was understanding however, and offered us some extras to compensate. Would definitely return as Porto is well worth a visit!

Das Hotel ist sehr schön, sehr schön eingerichtet mit alten Möbeln, die leider teilweise durchgesessen sind (Essbereich)
Wir hatten extra dieses Hotel gebucht, weil es einen Parkplatz hatte, diesen mussten wir dann extra bezahlen, obwohl das Hotel sehr hochpreisig war.und von Extra Gebühren davor keine Rede war. Das ist einfach nicht korrekt.
Der Service im Frühstücksbereich war schlecht, wir wurden schleppend bis gar nicht bedient, Rühreier gingen aus, es dauerte 10 Min. bis Ersatz da war. Insgesamt ist das Hotel viel zu teuer für das was geboten wird
We stayed here for a birthday weekend in Porto and absolutely loved it. Beautiful décor and ambience, great location, friendly and professional staff, comfortable bed and delicious breakfast. Good cocktails in the Scarlett bar, too. The only real downside was the noise during the night: all I can say is that there seemed to be A LOT of noisy, drunk people whose shouts echoed up and down the streets well into the early hours :-( The windows could have used better soundproofing. But we were treated so well that I can't bring myself to remove a point for this.

Coffee amenities not complete. No cream or sugar for the coffee. Very sparse minibar. Plastic flowers with cobwebs in the window boxes were depressing. Room more like 4 star than 5 star in that sense.
Das Hotel vermittelt mit seiner üppigen Pracht und dem zuvorkommenden, zahlreichen Personal den Eindruck, im späten 19. Jahrhundert angekommen zu sein. Die Ausstattung ist opulent, ohne abgegriffen zu wirken.
Beim Frühstück gibt es außer dem Buffet, die Möglichkeit diverse Dinge in der Küche zubereiten zu lassen.
Wir hatten einen Mietwagen zur Verfügung. Mit dem Auto ist es etwas schwierig an dem Hotel vorzufahren.
