On my booking.com filter, I had only hotel rooms with bath ticked. This hotel room had no bath.
Otherwise, hotel and staff were excellent.
Hotel bardzo klimatyczny. Piękne wnętrza - poza pokojem. Niesamowita winda. Super lokalizacja.
Pokój trochę mały. Łóżko za miękkie
The room was very small and there is no lounge to relax in. Limited menu.
La stanza non era tanto luminosa
Everyone was very hospitable and went out there way to help you if needed.
Beautiful property very well taken care of.
There really was not anything to dislike
about it.
It felt safe and clean. The inside was pretty and it was centrally located.
The air conditioning was not great. It is under construction so the bar was unavailable.
We had a very pleasant stay at Infante Sagres. We stayed in one of the newly refurbished rooms, which was beautifully designed, comfortable and had everything we needed. The hotel itself has so much character and charm, while still feeling fresh and elegant. The staff were particularly welcoming and friendly throughout our stay and always happy to help. The location is also excellent, right in the heart of Porto and within easy walking distance of many of the city’s main sights, restaurants and shops. A lovely hotel and one I would happily recommend.
The only small downside was the size of the room, which felt a little tight for two suitcases. For one person, however, it would have been absolutely ideal.
The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Porto, with all the main attractions, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were exceptionally nice, kind and welcoming, which made our experience even more enjoyable.
Nothing in particular. We were very happy with our stay.
Wonderful historic property centrally located in Porto
The only downsides is that they are in the middle of a major renovation and the pool was closed along with hallways being cordoned off and the grand stair case in the lobby - arguably the focal point of the hotel off limits with large construction tarps impeding the view
Todo muy correcto
Mejorable el restaurante para cenar
Everything!
Nothing!!
I booked this hotel through Chase points and stayed for one night in August. Very close to all major sight seeing locations, especially the main square and the Livraria. Well appointed room, bed was solid and so was the bath. AC and Wifi worked fine. Excellent food at the restaurants. Breakfast was a complete spread and also offered the option to order complimentary items. I needed to have a quick lunch, the grilled chicken Caesar was delicious and served promptly. Only reason for the four stars is the ongoing work. I was woken up on a Saturday morning with loud drilling. Housekeeping a bit spotty... there was a used water bottle in the room when I checked-in that was quickly replaced.
I chose the Infante Sagres because of its reputation as a five-star hotel. Unfortunately, my experience with their customer service has left me unable to recommend staying there.
Before our trip, I booked and prepaid a room through American Express. After finding a lower prepaid rate, I canceled the original reservation and rebooked the same room. At check-in, I was informed that both reservations were still active. The duty manager acknowledged the issue, apologized, assured me the duplicate reservation would be canceled, and promised a full refund. Both my husband and my sister (who had a separate room) were present when this commitment was made.
That promise has never been fulfilled.
Since our stay, I have made multiple phone calls and sent several emails. I have repeatedly been told that the refund was being processed, that the manager had been away, or that the finance department would contact me. None of those assurances resulted in a refund or even confirmation that one had been issued and now the hotel has stopped responding to me which is very unprofessional.
Mistakes can happen at any hotel. What distinguishes a five-star property is how it responds when those mistakes occur. In my experience, Infante Sagres failed to follow through on repeated promises and left me to spend weeks chasing a refund that should have been handled immediately and never materialized.
If you are considering staying here, understand that if there is a billing or reservation problem, you may have to invest significant time and effort trying to get it resolved. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel and will not return until it demonstrates that it values customer service as much as its reputation.
Sehr gute Lage, sehr traditionelle Ausstattung
Es fehlte eine Bar
My partner and I decided to give this hotel the nickname “Infinite Sadness”. It is an old palace hotel whose faded grandeur could be charming but the staff make the experience unpleasant. When we checked in we were told the pool would be closed for two days; it wasn’t in the end but no one told us. When we complained about this the front desk staff was completely unhelpful. Bathrooms have cheap linoleum floors, which I wouldn’t expect at a 5 star hotel. There was also long construction going on with no warning on their website. Would recommend both Amex Fine Hotels and SLH remove this hotel from their inventory.
