I absolutely loved how nice the owners were; so inviting. The grounds are amazing; gorgeous, clean, great flow. The glass bungalows are breathtakingly beautiful. I can’t believe we found this place. It is definitely a 10/10. Claudette & Lorraine

We could not have imagined a better place to stay on our trip to Costa Rica. The owners of Villas Kalei were extremely kind humans who truly cared about their guests and their experience. The property itself is gorgeous and a perfect mix of private and communal. There are a family of monkeys who are extremely fun to watch climb at the tops of the trees. Villas Kalei is also walking distance to amazing restaurants and the beach! You will not be disappointed with this property and the service you receive here! A must stay!

Villas Kalei are so beautiful and we loved everything about it! Beautiful touches in the rooms, excellent food close by and very peaceful. Very close to playa grande which was our favorite beach to hang out. The owners are so kind and very helpful in recommending places for food/activities. Definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway. There’s also a group of monkeys that hang out in the trees around the property so that was fun to see. Hope we will be back!

The property is tranquil and beautiful. It is within walking distance of restaurants. Seeing the monkeys in the trees added to the stay.

My experience on their property was WAY better than I expected. I thought the pictures were cute but honestly the instant I stepped on the property I knew I made a good decision. The property was very stylish, very clean, good location, and the owners were SUPER PERSONABLE. I felt very comfortable on the property and enjoyed having some time to speak with them both. A part of me doesn’t want to share any info because I want it to be “my place” that I stay when I’m in CR. However, this place needs to be applauded. No complaints outside of the fact that I only spent a few days. I’ll be back for sure. Thanks Marcos and Jeisha.

Wonderful cozy place to stay in Playa Grande. Clean rooms/cabins with nice design touches (outdoor shower, big sliding doors that open up the rooms). It’s a newer property so everything is in new condition. Just 4 cabins on the property. Pool was great! Jeisha and Marcos are such kind, welcoming hosts. Close to the beach for daily surfing and near a few great local spots like Pots and Bowls, Casa Inti, and a gym. Stay here if you’re visiting Playa Grande!

This place is absolutely gorgeous! Very unique. Loved the way the grounds were laid out with every villa having a private mini yard/place to sit outside with hammock and outdoor shower! Very peaceful. The shared grounds were very well kept up.

We loved the shared kitchen and that it was outside. Again, very unique!

The owners were so very pleasant and welcoming and shared their knowledge of the area and recommended places to see and based on their recommendation of a tour company, with a few emails, all our excursions were taken care of.

If you stay here, you should have a car. While you can certainly walk to places near by, there isn't really a town. It was our first time in the country and I was nervous about driving so did not get a car. After being there, it was my only regret.

This is a place to stay if you prefer your vacations to be away from the hustle and bustle of crowds and a lot of people.

My 12 yr old daughter and I had 3 blissful days and nights at the Villas Kalei. The design of the Villas, the selection of furniture, the comfortable linens, mattresses...it looked and felt like we were staying in the pages of a travel and design magazine. We spent time in the beautiful pool, prepared meals and played cards in the communal kitchen/dining area, and just relaxed in the villa, which had great air conditioning as well as ceiling fans. Lighting makes a huge difference, and the interior and exterior lighting of the property makes it feel warm, welcome and safe, even in the dark of night. We loved the rose quartz lamp in our Kawai villa.

Bathrooms were wonderful, with an indoor and outdoor shower; river rock and polished concrete materials made it seem like a spa.

The owners, Jeisha and Marcos, built a special hotel property that reflect an elegant, family oriented lifestyle. We did not have a car, but I was able to take yoga classes each day at the yoga studio a 7 minute walk away, and we dined at nearby restaurants and even had delicious Thai food delivered one night!

If you are planning a visit to Guanacaste, put this gem of a place on your radar. You will not regret it!

we recently took our first big family vacation (minus our toddler) to CR. My husband and I wanted locations that were comfortable for the kids, didn’t feel like a generic, oversized resort, and that were close to the beach! My husband researches locations like crazy and we ended up wanting to stay near Playa Grande. Everything he showed me was so boring and not authentic. The second he brought up the page to Villa Kalei I was SO excited! The photos online, though nice, don’t do it justice. We immediately felt so welcomed. Jeisha and Marcos were beyond hospitable and helpful. They spent a lot of time patiently sharing the best recommendations - they never seemed bothered or rushed. They were so personable. We saw an iguana, howler monkeys, lounged in the pool, and LOVED the showers. Plus after a long day at the beach the clean and cool room was perfect. Our room fit myself, my 6”2 hubby and our two teenager kids so comfortably- it was so spacious! The whole Having a kitchen outside was wonderful too, especially as I have dietary restrictions that can make eating out difficult. it’s so close to so many beaches, just the perfect home base to check out a TON of the most gorgeous beaches! All in all, wonderful atmosphere, a safe setting, lots of interesting nature, fantastic hosts who are beyond welcoming, and some super interesting villas to rest and relax in! We could not recommend Villas Kalei enough - thank you so much for having us, Jeisha and Marcos!

Villas Kalei is a spectacular property. The owners, Jeisha and Marco's superb aesthetic, attention to every detail, and hospitality are unforgettable. You will love it - and them.

We had a perfect stay at villas Kalei. Everything about this place was amazing. Very quiet and secluded, but also a few minutes walk to a nearby restaurant, a convenient store and about 15 minutes walk ( 2 mins drive ) to playas grande (beach). The rooms in the private villas are very beautiful and spacious. The outdoor shower was also a plus. Waking up everyday with an amazing view of nature was breathtaking.
Our hosts Jeisha and Marcos were excellent and made us feel welcomed.

Amazing place! Pictures do not do it justice. Brand new. Probably the best place I've stayed in Costa Rica. Everything was constructed as a person would want to have as an inviting home.

My stay at Villa Kalei was amazing. It is an absolutely beautiful place in an amazing location to see amazing beaches and Costa Rican treasures like hot springs, waterfalls, etc. Jeisha and Marcos are wonderful hosts. They greeted us warmly on arrival even tho we arrived quite late. They were available during our stay to offer advice on our outings, point us toward the best beaches, restaurants, etc. They even arranged a boat cruise one evening.

The villas was stunning. There are 4 homes on the property. Ours was modern, immaculate, and well appointed. We even had a private outdoor shower. The photos don’t do it justice. The pool was lovely, and we took a dip each morning before we headed to the beach, and after dinner before bed. It was quiet and peaceful.

I traveled alone with my two teen daughters. I felt very safe and taken care of the whole time. Jeisha and Marcos have something very special at Villas Kalei. I hope you gonand experience it!
