A wonderful, quiet
Super recomendado
Great stay in picturesque El Triunfo. Enjoyed full moon and nice bonfire. Plan to return
We had a blast at that place. The staff is super friendly and relaxed. We rented the cabin “Los Venados” a little away up the hill from the swimming pool area. It’s perfect for 2 people and you get fantastic views over the valley. It’s impeccable, quiet and sunny, surrounded by trees and cacti. Will want to go back again. Thank you.
Staff is great and several speak functional English. We like our spacious cabin. Comfortable king bed. Good AC and fan. Local water doesn't feel good in shower, but lots of bottled water is provided. Hard water is regional issue and not the hotel’s fault. Watch out for cattle if you drive at night. Town is tiny and locals are friendly. Dogs and cattle wandering around.
This was a lovely cabin but there were so many things missing that we ended up frustrated and unhappy.
We were told this was the most complete unit with a TV. No TV (not a problem). The bed was great! Also, there was a fridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker.
But no plates, no utensils, no cups, no wine or beer opener (but two wine glasses?) and no coffee (why a coffee maker?) And, no chairs, no soap or shampoo for the shower (there was liquid soap in a dispenser by the sink). And no place to put our suitcases or to hang our clothes.
Realizing we would need to eat, we asked about where we could eat. The hotel’s restaurant closes at 4 pm but we were assured that there were several restaurants. Turned out that they all closed at 5 pm!
Luckily we were able to convince the Caffe El Triunfo owner to feed us at 5:20 pm. Thwy served us the Best lasagna we’ve had. The hotel staff didn’t even tell us about the Caffe (the best restaurant in town.
The staff did give me a cup and enough coffee for the morning. They also found two chairs. Only one other unit was rented. No surprise.
There is a pool but the water was murky and not appealing. The owner needs to look after the little things. They are what make the stay enjoyable.
Room was comfortable (Luz de la Luna) and the location was very nice, nestled in desert habitat. Elf owls calling at night. Dry river bed running adjacent to cabanas provided good bird-watching. Just a few small annoyances: broken umbrella on porch and shower that drained poorly which nearly flooded bathroom, had to pay in USD on site because credit card device was not operating properly, pool pretty cold in early March, and food from onsite kitchen fit the bill after hiking in the mountains, but not memorable. Though seemingly a long list of complaints, we enjoyed our stay and the staff was very friendly.
Very pleasant place. Very nice staff. Relaxing and attractive
The most amazing surprise a beautiful manicured first rate property in the middle of a beautiful little town
My only commentary is that the town does close up on Mondays so that would be a day I would not ideally stay there
The breakfast and lunch that you’re able to buy on the premises is amazing you do need to bring some type of your own food for dinner if you’re there on Monday
Don’t miss the Mirador that is on the property everything is first rate and amazing this is for travelers!!!!
This place is a real GEM!!!! We were delighted with our second floor tree house in among the vegetation. It was soooo roomy and comfortable with admirable decoration and generous amenities. There are zip lining and mine tours available, a lovely pool and seating areas.
was a nice place with lots of history, tours were a little pricey when ya could walk for free, but would prevent ya stepping on a snake lol, the dangerous viper was at least 4 inches long
Very small room. No heating or a/c. Bathroom/shower not in room-communal.
Beautiful private cabana... so comfortable king bed. Was 1800 pesos a night. Kitchen was nice and staff friendly. Pool was beautiful but cold 😱
