Close to where I had to go

The location made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe upon check-in. This should have immediately sent me out the door but had travelled for 11 hours and was exhausted. However, when I got to my room, I decided to stay the night but move to another hotel the next day. I contacted the front desk that night and said I would be checking out the next day early and was informed I'd receive a refund minus the night I stayed plus early check out fee which seemed reasonable. This was my first stay in Newport News, and I was here for training for a week so was glad this had been resolved. I have yet to receive a refund and have consistently contacted the motel for updates. The manager said she had to contact the regional manager, and I still do not know if I will receive a refund or the status. Apparently, they charged me for the entire stay which I had not anticipated nor wanted, and I trusted the employees to stand by their word of a refund and updates. I have stayed in hotels all over the country and am usually charged for the stay at the end. Anyhow, beware of this motel!!!!!!! Read all the reviews beforehand!!!!!

The staff was great, so accommodating and friendly! Brenda the manager on site is so sweet and went above and beyond for us and our extended stay experience! We will definitely refer all friends and family to the oyster point ESA and we cannot thank all of you enough!!

The location was great for where I had to go and what was being done for the weekend stores and restaurants close by and entertainment room size and the kitchenette was great

I have stayed here for quite some time. Ms Brenda is an awesome manager always kind, patient ,willing to help
out. Any problem or concerns are taken seriously and she acts quickly to resolve any issues or problems.

The staff now is awesome and I believe that’s due to a good manager who makes sure all staff are qualified and educated well on their duties as an employee of ESA. Ms Brenda and staff are very professional and courteous

The previous managers were not so great , like they didn’t care. Some of the old staff is gone and I feel it was for the best.

Ms Brenda definitely gets the highest rating I can give.

The location is so convenient especially if you don’t drive, the atmosphere is so quiet & peaceful. The rooms are wonderful & spacious never had any issues. I’ve been here since August of 2025 the rate has gone down I’m very happy. Ms. Brenda, Ms. Christina, Ms. Francis, Ms. Kaylah. They are all so very helpful & so nice if you bring anything to their attention they do not hesitate they are on it.

Great staff and management overall good place

My experience at extended stay of America have been amazing my room was nice and clean when I got the people in the office and Mrs Brenda make sure I’m good and get everything I need I’m here close by everything I need that’s walking distance so I love the area they never give me a hard time with nothing I appreciate the things people do for me while being here and understanding of what I’m going through but if you looking for a good place stop here and they will help you get into something comfortable for you and your family or friends

There was NOTHING to like about this hotel. There were roaches, mold on the ceiling in the bathroom causing a hole. The carpet was filthy. The A/C units filter needs to be changed. Due to the mold I had a headache all night long and didn’t sleep. The hallways were filthy with dirt, spiderwebs, cigarette butts, and trash. The elevator was dirty abandoned smelled of urine. Or maybe that was the hallway? Who knows. This place needs to be blown up and redone. It is awful. And don’t get me started about the sketchy people hanging around outside. Never felt safe. If I could give 0 stars I would. Never again?!!

Great service and attention. Staff very friendly and work with you regarding any issue. They make sure you get anything your room needs to make you comfortable.

Had a great time on my stay here at extended Stay. I would like to give a shout out to Christina. She is wonderful and very inviting. I felt like I was at home. Thank you Christina!

I recommend a excellent rating the room was clean and the staff was courteous I enjoyed my stay and I will visit again with family next time.

I've gotta say, the customer service was top-notch, and housekeeping kept my room spotless during my first visit. I totally recommend this place. The location is great, and it was super quiet the whole time I was there. The vibe was just awesome. Everything amenity worked well and was clean. It was totally worth the money. Definitely check this place out if you ever need somewhere to crash. Also, I've been here before, and it has definitely been a complete turnaround since the last time I was here.
