Fairmont Chateau Laurier Gold Experience

Immediately upon arrival, we were informed that their parking garage was at full capacity and we were unable to get valet service (we anticipated valet service given the amount you pay to stay there). We were instructed to park about a 15 minute walk away from the property in another public garage. We were told this was because they recently demolished several levels from their parking garage and spots were now limited as a result. At check in, there was a massive line up. It took about 25 minutes standing in line to check into the hotel which felt very chaotic and disorganized. When we got to the desk, we were told that the property was at 100% capacity and we were basically downgraded to a queen room (we pre paid for a king room with a view). We mentioned that it was not ideal and would rather a room with a king sized bed like we paid for, the man at the desk was a bit shocked by us saying that but managed to find us a smaller room with a king. Our room was clean and comfortable (minus smelling a bit musty), the pillows were amazing but our remote for the tv didn’t work which was a little annoying as my husband and I like to watch tv when we are settled in for the evenings. Also not sure why there was such a huge gap from the door from hallway to the room, at 6am we were awoken by young kids screaming and running up and down the hallway which was so loud and literally felt as if we were in the same room as them. They were running and screaming for just over an hour. Overall, our experience was much different from previous stays at this location and left us feeling a bit disappointed (it was our anniversary and we chose this hotel as a treat to ourselves, but left us feeling as if we would have had a better experience at another cheaper hotel).

The front desk should have e more staff. We were waiting for more than 20 mins.in line just to replace our deactivated room key.

1.We only informed of Ironman event going on that same weekend and tgat parking would be impossible. Very confusing...
2. Air-conditioning was cool but did not remove humidity. Sheet always felt damp

Don’t know if I would book a suite again- not sure it was worth the extra money. Also, the bed pillows were way too soft.

Hele hotellet trænger til en opdatering og der er ikke styr reservationerne. Ved ankomst reserverede vi morgenmad til de kommende to dage vi var der. Stort minus at man skal reservere til et bestemt tidspunkt. Første morgen gik fint men anden morgen blev vi afvist da de ikke havde en reservation i deres system og ikke ville hjælpe selv om fejlen helt åbenlyst var deres. Gik herefter til Westin over for og fik en bedre morgenmad til en billigere pris.

Did not like that parking was inside a wall several blocks away. Didn’t like how inconvenient it was for People that weren’t involved in the Iron Man marathon to not have access to a taxi or Uber, who were unable to walk around. The most thing I did not like about my trip was that the front desk always had a lineup and there was always very minimal staff available to deal with the growing line of people waiting. The number one dislike is when you called to speak with the front desk or the concierge you never received a live operator ever and no one ever called you back and their mailbox is always full and they started one week prior to visiting the facilities.

L’accueil au restaurant fut parfois plus froid, mais jamais au niveau des serveurs et des cuisinier. L’établissement est très beau de l’extérieur, mais les chambres manquent terriblement de commodités et auraient besoin d’un coup de neuf.
