Booked this hotel as a night away for my girlfriends birthday.
Rooms are spotless and beds are cosy. Lots of space in the rooms also.
Staff are very friendly and professional, made us feel very welcome.
The restaurant has incredible food.
Really nice hotel and will definitely be back again!
If I was nitpick, the spa facilities were good, however, were open to the public at the time of our stay. Nothing more relaxing that relaxing in the hot tub with 3 year olds doing swimming lessons 🤣 this wasn't too much of an issue for us though, check the swimming pool timetable before heading to the spa.
It was idyllic and for me the gym and spa were important
Carpets were a little worn and dirty
Dog room was a bit smelly
Nous avons fait un Road trip en Ecosse dont plusieurs châteaux pour y séjourner. Top.
Stayed before and looked forward to staying again. Perfect location for work commute in Aberdeen. Lovely countryside and views. Superior room was exceptional spotless and very comfortable. Staff are always friendly and helpful also relaxed family atmos. I used the spa facilities. Excellent massage. Highly recommend. Pool small and used by local children. Was very busy. Huge jacuzzi. Sat and enjoyed the bubbles. I had afternoon tea in the drawing room. Delicious! Plenty to eat all very tasty. Mini fridge tea coffee etc in room. No water bottles tho.
Everything was fab
Poor communication between staff shifts. Staff members not putting notes in the system for changeover team regarding guest requirements.
When checking in at reception team member had no idea of the size of our family group (10 guests). Prior to checking in date I received a message requesting guest details email address etc. I replied that I was the main contact for our family group and gave them a breakdown of each room requirements with names and ages for the children in the group. On arrival at check-in this information was not in the ‘notes’. Not very professional or reassuring for us as guests.
We also booked ahead for a meal in the restaurant due to the size of our family group. Was told that I needed to give the staff member a time so the request could be confirmed in the system. This conversation was well ahead of our arrival on 28th February 2026. I was assured the booking to dine on 28th was sure and firm. On arrival to stay overnight on 28th February again there was nothing in the ‘notes’ for a party of 10 dining in the restaurant under our name. Well you can imagine how upset we were when we heard that there was no table for us to eat in the restaurant. Was advised the hotel was very busy and would need to check if we could be accommodated. We were accommodated in the restaurant that turned out not too busy that evening.
Clearly as a guest I have no knowledge of this ‘notes’ system. It seemed that the staff were not interested in the guests or exceedingly unsure of the application that runs your booking systems.
Very disappointed and somewhat distressed to bring my family to celebrate a wedding anniversary, a happy occasion to have to deal with such lack of care and attention for guests/bookings.
Lovely location, beautiful rooms and attentive staff, excellent hotel
Ate in the restaurant for lunch, was quite cold ,kept coats on
Food at dinner and breakfast excellent

Good location on the outskirts of Aberdeen with parking on site. Lovely old country house ambiance about the public areas of the hotel. The bedroom we were allocated was nicely decorated with a modern bathroom.
Arrived later on a dark evening - good to have Sat nav as the drive seemed to suddenly appeared
