Blue Tao Beach Hotel

This hotel was so so. Communications were seamless, they sent a driver to pick me up and check in was a breeze. So far, so good.

However, the housekeeper never replenished the toilet paper, which obviously isn't ideal. And on one of the two days I was there, the staff forgot to place my breakfast order even though there was only one other customer at the restaurant, so I ended up going diving without breakfast. In their defense, the staff gave me a croissant for the road, which was nice, but that still doesn't excuse them completely dropping the ball.

We stayed as a group in Blue Tao beach hotel for a few nights. Half the group had the city view rooms, while I upgraded to a room with the net over the beach. Upgrading was really worth the additional cost, as it was very enjoyable to sit out on the net so close to the sea.

The hotel is in an excellent location, right in the centre of all the action. While I've noted some reviews complaining about noise, I did not find that we were bothered at all. If you're staying in the centre of Koh Tao you're always going to experience some noise due to the late bars in the area, and the hotel provides ear plugs in case this bothers you. There a lots of small shops, cafes/restaurants, a 7 Eleven and more within a few minutes' walking distance, and it's only about a 10 minute walk into to the centre of Koh Tao. As we weren't keen to use mopeds, the location was perfect.

The bed was comfy, room was very clean and air conditioning was very effective.
The on-site restaurant was very good and had nice varied menu options - we would really recommend. In addition, its location right beside the beach was a beautiful place to sit and we particularly enjoyed having breakfast there every morning.

Overall I felt like it was great value for money and would recommend!

Fantastic little hotel right on Sairee Beach. Perfectly located for bars, restaurants and shops on walking street. Hotel organised complimentary ferry pick up and drop offs which wormed brilliantly. We mainly dealt with Suzy who was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. We had the Hotel.breakfast at the restaurant next which was very good and the service in there was also excellent. Lovely day bed on the balcony giving fantastic view of the sunset/beach. Only downside is bathroom is very small and bar next door can be a bit noisy if your an early sleeper. We used Hello bar down walking street which was excellent and Tik Thai for food which was very tasty and reasonably priced. Hired scooter from KP again just down walking street who were also very good. Overall a brilliant little stay.

Great location, cute property, amazing staff, beautiful beachfront view and the best water pressure of any shower ever.

Beautiful hotel, 100000% recommended!!! We had a room with a sea view and it was just incredible, extremely clean and comfortable, and perfect for sunsets 😍 the hotel is literally on the beach and very centrally located with plenty of cafes and shops around. The hotel’s restaurant is also fantastic and we enjoyed three lovely breakfasts there. Lastly, the staff are phenomenal. Extremely helpful and the sweetest people I’ve met on my travels. I didn’t catch the receptionist’s name but he was so wonderful and really made us feel welcome. I’m already looking forward to my next stay 🏝️ thank you Blue Tao 🇹🇭

The staff was extraordinarily friendly, kind, and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience.

The room was initially described as small, but it turned out to be very spacious and comfortable.

And access to the beach was unparalleled, offering the perfect spot for relaxation, and you also get an unobstructed view of the most beautiful sunset.

Fantastic position on the beach surrounded by lovely little cafes and shops. Balcony was lovely to sit and watch the world go by. Unfortunately, it’s super noisy at night until the early hours. On our second night there the water stopped, just as we were getting ready to go out and stayed off for several hours. It finally came on and then the electricity cut out, think it was everywhere though. At least the music stopped for a while. Shower room had some black mould and was very small. Staff were lovely though.

Great stay, amazing view from the room, restaurant has incredible food, perfect walkable location. Yes the neighbouring bar is loud at night but it didn’t bother us at all, there was ear plugs in the room but we didn’t use them. Would definitely stay again.

We booked this hotel thinking it would be the highlight of our trip across Thailand. Sadly it was the lowlight.

The pictures and websites portray a peaceful haven sanctuary directly on the beach. The one accurate portrayal is that it’s on the beach. The people in the cafe bar are really friendly and nice.

- The view from the room Is amazing however there was dog poo under our room hammock which gave off a yuck smell. No one came to clear the hammock areas of beach litter or dog poo. 💩
- The balcony door would not shut properly so when the wind picks up you felt the wind in your room. 💨
- There was no hot water all the time we were there so had to have cold showers. ☹️🥶
- There was black mold on the ceiling.🤢
- The breakfast options included were poor.

It’s not in a peaceful part of the beach. There is a bar next door but one playing loud music till 2am everyday, and some form of noisy generator on all night. So if you’re a light sleeper or find it hard to get to sleep this is not the place for you.

Day one they were painting the hotel and we were hit with toxic oil paint that would make you dizzy if hit with a strong amounts.

Other days there was building work with power tools in the ground floor rooms that woke us up in the morning. They said they would stop when asked but it continued. Also it’s not peaceful or idyllic to be sat on your balcony and all you can hear is power tools.

The hotel also said they’d pay for our taxi to the pier head but they did not, and we had to pay ourselves.

I’d rather be at work than pay for this. We so wanted to like this place but it ruined our holiday.

So word to the now wise. Don’t fall for the image of a beautiful hotel on the seafront.

Helt greit rom, gode senger og bra dusj. Minibar, men holder dårlig på kulda. Bra med handler. Frokost er sånn comme ci comme ca. Mat ellers i restauranten er helt grei standard. Ikke noe gourmet opplevelse. Beliggenhet er veldig bra. Rett på stranda. Egne handkler på rommet til det. Kan godt komme tilbake igjen. Hadde rom mot stranden, ikke noe bråk og som regel helt stille etter 23.

Overall the hotel was very nice and in a great location with lots of bars and restaurants near by. The included hotel breakfast was very delicious. I’d recommended staying here for your time in Koh Tao!!

The only confusion was upon check in we were told by the receptionist they would arrange a taxi to take us to the pier the next day at 9am as our ferry was at 9:30am and the taxi service would be complimentary. When checking out we found out no taxi was arranged and it was not complimentary (100 THB per person). The receptionist ordered us a taxi and we made it to our ferry so all was fine in the end. Just added unnecessary stress and confusion to our morning.

On the beach, clean comfy with great food, the sunset from your room is breathtaking, walking distance to anything you need, the staff was amazing I would come back here and recommended.
