Ein sehr schönes Hotel zum richtigen Wohlfühlen, besonders für Eisenbahn-Fans
Pros:

Das Personal war super nett und hilfsbereit, und alle meine Sonderwünsche konnten erfüllt werden. Der Shuttle zum Flughafen war pünktlich. Das Zimmer war gemütlich und sehr groß. Bad und WC sehr sauber. Die Umgebung war auch nachts sehr sicher. (Die angstmachenden Wohnzelte in der Nähe aus früheren Bewertungen scheinen im Rahmen einer neuen Sicherheitspolitik beseitigt worden zu sein.) Da ich als Bahn-Fan die Eisenbahn in Alaska oft gefahren bin: Der Bahnhof ist nur 5 min zu Fuß entfernt, und von meinem Fenster aus die Eisenbahn zu sehen und zu hören, das hat mir viel Freude gemacht. Das Frühstück war sehr vielfältig und mehr als ausreichend. Kaffee, Tee, Kakao konnte den ganzen Tag am Buffet beliebig oft geholt werden.

Cons:

Das Zimmer war ziemlich teuer. Einige Kleinigkeiten im Zimmer waren ein wenig alt. Für Lärmempfindliche sind vielleicht die Bahngeräusche zu viel. (Der Frühstücksraum war klein, aber ich habe immer einen Platz bekommen.)

Eh....Manageable
Pros:

Hotel is ran down and suspicious but has decent bones. After traveling for 16 hours I didn't have the energy to complain. Bed was comfortable but did check for bugs.

Quick walk or Uber ride to the train station which is why we booked here. Free airport shuttle (shuttle driver has a horrible attitude problem)

Normally a Hilton guy but I have it a shot due to location. It could have been a lot worse but also a lot better.

The only thing I liked was the proximity to the train station.

Overall our experience was unsatisfactory. We had stayed here before in June 2022 and it has gone downhill! Airport shuttle took forever. We were told by hotel staff there was a shuttle to the train in the morning, but when we inquired in the morning we were informed that it had to be booked the night before. Our first room had no heat. Additionally, when we arrived after 11 pm the window was open and the room was freezing (outside temp was in low 40s). The front desk person said she could give us extra blankets (really?). We requested a room change which was done but it was clearly an inconvenience. The rooms are getting really run down.

I’d appreciate the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the room.

Cons:

The bathroom light didn’t turn off. We heard trains all night. The breakfast selection was minimal, with many things not available. It was old and outdated. The desk in our room was falling apart.

Pros:

The room was pretty basic but clean and comfortable. Decent breakfast and coffee. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The airport shuttle was great. Great location, right on Ship Creek, fun to look for salmon and watch fishermen. Walkable to downtown and some good restaurants, breweries and gift shops. Super convenient to the train station. Reasonably priced as far as Anchorage hotels go. About the only downside was that the trains were blowing their horns early in the morning. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice location/not great service!
Pros:

The closeness to the train station was the best feature as it is literally right outside of the hotel and you can walk over to it to catch the train.

Cons:

Price was steep for the services we obtained. Never came to service the room. 1 towel and 2 wash cloths for 3 people for a 2 night stay. They had no towels to give us the second night to accommodate everyone two nights in a row. Was told if they got towels from another unoccupied room that it would inconvenience the next customer and it would only cause more complaints. I said we are here now and are inconvenienced by not having a stocked room which we paid for as well. Her response to how are we suppose to be able to shower and bath without towels was I dont know sorry instead of remedying the issue.

A convenient location but disappointing service.
Pros:

We had chosen this hotel for its location, close to the Alaska Railway. It also has a pleasant outlook towards the walks along the river behind the hotel. We had hoped to use their free shuttle however that did not eventuate.

Cons:

Our first impression was the reception staff who displayed very little interest and handled our check-in process poorly. Over our two night stay, the overall staff interaction was disheartening, although there were a few members who showed some interest. Our room was reasonably comfortable but could benefit from some maintenance, especially the ceiling in the bathroom.

Hit and mostly miss
Pros:

We stayed with a group of 10 rooms based on this hotel's location to the railway. Location is perfect. Management and honesty however leaves much to be desired. Staff was overworked. Amongst a multitude of problems, rooms had no working locks at the time, I hope this has been fixed by now. Management actually lied multiple times. I have trying to get two overcharges refunded. There is no question that it is due, I have the correspondence to prove the discrepancies, however I am unable after 8 months and multiple requests to get the refunds actually processed. They say it will be done, then nothing...

will not recommend staying there if you are a single female.
Pros:

What did I like? There was hot water for shower. Breakfast was Par. Kitchen people and cleaning people were nice.

Cons:

What I did not like? There was lots of homeless people close to the hotel. I know you can not control the homeless population but I did not feel safe coming in late in the evening. I had to park far on the side and had to walk though the front door because the side doors locked. The first 2 nights there was so much noise I could not sleep. I changed rooms to front and the parking lot noise was loud. I had to sleep with the window open because it smelled bad and the room was very hot. that was the only way to make it managable. Most of the work out equipment was not working. The pool key was not working and the pool was not heated as stated in Booking site. The front desk people were lacking in friendliness. I finally got one of them to start being more friendly toward the end of my stay.
