We needed a quick place to stay, just off the highway and cheap. I read the reviews for several places in Murfreesboro becoming increasingly discouraged. THEN … we stumbled on the reviews for Americas Best. They weren’t stellar reviews, but not too bad.
I booked a king suite for the night @$63.
CHECK IN: JAMES!! James is THE best!! Great personality. Check in was quick and uneventful. He told us about the restaurants on both sides and across the street from the motel.
THE ROOM: Clean (except a little mold on the shower liner). A/C worked great, bed was comfortable, hot water and a good shower. This place is a little dated, but the room didn’t have that awful cheap motel smell, at all. At that point, I was pretty happy. Although we didn’t use them, there was a microwave and a fridge.
SURROUNDING AREA: This motel is just off the highway and did not feel unsafe at all. There is a restaurant on each side of the motel. We chose the Tennessee something (bar & grill) just across the parking lot. Again, it’s outdated (the whole area is outdated). We were greeted and seated right away and drinks were quick to arrive. Order placed and didn’t take long to get it. Good food and GREAT STAFF. Our server was fabulous and 100% attentive. ORDER THE DEVILED EGGS!! You won’t be sorry. Music was a little loud, but it is a bar.
Nothing really. The room was clean, cleaner than expected and the staff was very personable.
Room was a little comfortable
I have never had housekeeping waking me up out of my sleep at 8:55 am in the morning banging on my door then have the neve to open it:(. The checkout time is 11:00 am that was unacceptable and invaded my privacy.
Other thing was not okay this hotel need to switch out or change shower curtains because mines was awful.
The staff
The cleanliness of the rooms, the beds were terrible and banged when you would move, literally a banging sound. The neighborhood was fine but someone was living at the hotel and even planted a garden.
i didn’t like anything about there where homeless people squatting they are ran down bad
it was spider crawling everywhere they bed wasn’t comfortable shower had black mold worst ever
Not a singular thing.
The room was not cleaned, hair and debris all over the floors. Sheets smelt like urine, had holes and stains covered in them. Found multiple lumps of hair in the sheets. You sat on the bed and the bed frame sounded like gun shots. The fridge was dirty. I also paid for a $50 “refundable” deposit but since I paid with card I was told I cannot be refunded. The housekeeper kept making my family and I uncomfortable, would NOT stop watching us and staring at my 5 year old. Like seriously she would STOP what she was doing to watch her. I told her to not enter my room during our stay and not once, not twice, but THREE times she kept opening my door trying to enter the room. We had the door cracked at one point and she put her hand in my room trying to enter our room, mind you I asked for a “do not disturb” sign that she failed to read clearly. The area was terrible. Constant sirens all night long. That actually not the hotels fault, however there was police in the hotel property both nights we were there. I asked about the breakfast and before the front desk even answered my question he stated “you’re not missing much” which obviously makes you not even want to go try anything.
Hands down the worst stay of my entire life. Not safe for my child whatsoever, not safe for us. I felt uneasy leaving my property in the room, especially being overcharged for such a crappy room.
