Super 8 by Wyndham Metairie

The rooms are extremely disgusting! Our bathroom wall was literally crumbling and falling apart, broken wall tiles. There was a real ROCK wedged in the stopper of the tub to keep it propped up!!! The floors were sticky, terribly dirty, and filthy, we had to keep our flip flops on to move around the room. Black mold along the baseboards and ceiling, poop smear right next to our bed (and many other unknown smears) on all of the walls, toilet seat cracked in half and chipped in several spots, the metal secure flip lock was broke off the door, paint scraped and chipped off the walls, dirt and thick dust build up on bed frame, outlets, plug ins, stains on the lamp shades, gunk, junk and funk caked on the cabinet on both sides of the fridge and in the little crevice of the fridge you put your hand in to open it. They removed the dial from controlling the temp on the fridge, so our items were basically room temperature. I used my own travel Lysol wipes to clean as much of the areas we HAD to have contact with and got a wash rag hot and soapy and tried to clean the crud out of the fridge crevice. I have NEVER in all my travels been in a filthier hotel room! I DO HAVE PICTURES TO PROVE EVERYTHING!

I doubt any normal person would participate in the nearby activities we witnessed! Tons of homeless and druggies walking around all day and night hanging out in the parking lot and going from floor to floor knocking on hotel doors, sometimes ducking into a room and back out within minutes. Then the club that was a block away playing non-stop, 24 hours a day thumping and bumping music. Big crowd over there also hanging out in the parking lot and in vehicles back and forth. It's was hard to sleep anyway, but that constant bumping music attributed to the sleepness night!

This hotel is trashy and in a terrible, unsafe area! Homeless and druggies hang out, in and around the hotel! UNSAFE for anyone! Don't take any chances because you may never make it home.

You better not try walking anywhere around this hotel or area!

Unless you want to take a chance with your life and go to the club that is right next to this hotel.

At check in, the lady was extremely rude and hateful. We paid for the room beforehand online-PAID IN FULL'and the rude desk clerk charged our card an addition $100 deposit! The breakfast sucks, nothing to eat but cereal and a gallon of milk to pour from. Signs up saying pancake machine is broke. Glad we had cell phones because the phone in our room didn't work. Stay ANYWHERE but here!

The water pressure was horrible in the bathtub/shower. Everything else was great.

I hope no one has this experience in Life!! I have travel many many places and never had this. I used to be a Diamond member and now a Gold member. I booked through my points at this hotel for 1 night between 14th Feb to 15th Feb at around 8:30pm through the wyndham rewards portal and my confirmation number is 91704EE040547. I went to checkin at the hotel at around 10pm. while checking in the front desk agent said that he sees my reservation but don't see a room linked and he has to talk to his manager and get back. i wait for 10 mins at the lobby and i ask him for an update. He tells me that his manager has informed that I reservation is now cancelled !! I asked him who cancelled it and how? He says he doesn't know and i need to check with Wyndham and he can't help. He though has one room available for cash at $400.
I didn't know what to say to him. He and his manager (i saw his name was written Sandy Patel) somehow tricked me. I couldn't find any room near by for the night. The front desk guy told me that i can't wait in the lobby after 11 pm and dragged me out. The only thing i could do was to go to airport and sit on the bench overnight with my wife!!

Today i called customer service to get an explanation and filed a case. When the called in the hotel to check today, there was a lady in the front desk.. She said the hotel canceled my reservation since i didn't not checkin at the checkin time around 3 pm!! I booked at 8:30pm!!! How can one checkin at that time!! What a resolution!!!! Miserable is probably an understatement and the agony i had been with!!

Wyndham group says that they are a franchisee and they don't have any control how they operate. If that is so - what a fantastic group to trust and travel. Well I will leave it to you all travelers to decide.

Ice machine in my floor (2nd) was broken. It would have been nice not to have to go downstairs.

Hotel staff was rude. Shower area was dirty and the room had roaches. The area where breakfast is served smells like mildew.

Bed bugs in our bed.

To began the owners are rude. The room was ok. It was outdated. The bed is uncomfortable. The shower was dirty and they refused to clean only offers me a new shower curtain. There was roaches coming out the sink and in the bathroom. I asked for another room and they refused me to switch h rooms. Please choose another place to stay. They offer breakfast but the area where breakfast was smelled like mold.

It's a great choice if you're looking for a cheap place to stay, but keep in mind that you get what you pay for.

There is mold and mildew, water damage. Property is a health issue. There is smoke in the non smoking rooms, no proper ventilation.

Even though its in a busy area, its still quiet and comfortable.

Needed a brake from Hospital.
