Pros:

this must be the most peaceful place between Sheffield and Manchester. So close yet so remote. Just perfect.

Great food and walking
Pros:

This was our 3rd stay at Losehill- perfectly situated for rambling in the Peaks (no car required once you get there), great food - fine dining in the evening, hearty cooked to order breakfast in the morning, in a lovely setting. Family owned hotel which is fairly small, resulting in an unassuming local feel. Would recommend.

Delicious food and luxury comfort
Pros:

This was our second trip to Losehill House. My daughter loves the pool and jacuzzi and my husband and I love the delicious food. The Dinner, Bed and Breakfast option feels like good value for money. My daughter would have preferred a buffet-style breakfast but the choice and quality of the food at both breakfast and dinner were excellent.

Beautiful Stay
Pros:

I took myself to Losehill for my birthday and had an excellent stay. The service was wonderful and I especially enjoyed the special touches. I received a surprise room upgrade and was given a small present from the hotel staff. The views from the room were incredible, and the bathroom toiletries smelled incredible. The location is ideal for visiting nearby towns, and it is easy to do many local hikes such as Lose Hill or Win Hill, from the hotel. I opted for the upgrade, which included a 25 minute spa treatment and upgrade to the 6 course dinner (when booking the breakfast & dinner package). The massage was great quality. Unfortunately I didn't receive my welcome drink and was unsure of who to ask about that - but I was treated to a glass of fizz by other guests, which made up for this. The dinner was exceptional, and also included a sweet birthday touch. The only small critiques I have are there was at times quite a long wait between courses for both dinner and breakfast, and the hot tub and sauna were not very warm by the end of the day. I would suggest booking in to use the hot tub early on in the morning while it is still warm.

Incredible place! In love!
Pros:

Oh boy what a weekend at Losehill House Hotel & Spa!

Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish.
We planned a full adventure weekend — hiking across the Peak District (Mam Tor, Back Tor, Lose Hill) and finishing at the hotel — and this place delivered on every level. The location alone is unreal, surrounded by some of the best views in the UK, and it’s the perfect base for both proper hikes and a relaxing escape.

After a long day out, coming back to the spa was exactly what we needed. The facilities were clean, peaceful, and genuinely relaxing — not overcrowded, just calm and well thought out.

The food and service was on another level. We went for the tasting menu with the wine flight, and honestly, every course felt special. You can tell real care goes into both the cooking and presentation — it felt like a proper experience, not just a meal.

What really made it stand out though was the atmosphere and service. And the room... best view ever. Period. If you visit - ask for No.10 you wont regret it!

Everything felt effortless, welcoming, and well organised without being overly formal.
This place nails the balance between adventure and luxury.
Already thinking about coming back.

A hidden gem
Pros:

Losehill has the winnign formula, fabulous location in the Peak district, in a valley surrounded by the hills. Lovely walks easily accessed from the hotel, with a local pub within walking distance for a beer of return. Hotel offers excellent serivce, staff helpful , restaurant staff attentive and also friendly , The food is absolutely fabulous, well presented and so tasty I could not fault it. The hotel has a lovely welcoming vibe. Spa facilities well done, with views over the valley from the out door hot tub and sauna, pool area nicely appointed. It didnt feel busy as spa times booked via reception. We had the most relaxing stay of 3 nights, which felt like a retreat from the World.

Our third visit, excellent
Pros:

Our third stay at this hotel. We find it relaxing, gorgeous views and swim, sauna and jacuzzi to rest the tired muscles after a walk. Lots of walks right from the door, leaflets provided, no need to use the car. Food is fab, every course a delight to the eye and the palette. Excellent breakfast, lots of choices, large cafetières of coffee. Comfy bedrooms and nice en-suite. Staff are all very friendly and make you feel relaxed and welcome. We will be back!

Birthday break
Pros:

2nd time here with my husband. We came for 1 night for my birthday. Staff are all really friendly. We checked in and found some birthday choccy which was a lovely little touch. Beds comfy and complimentary tea, coffee, water and biscuits. Plus shampoo, conditioner and body wash and soap. We got into our robes and flip flips and went down to the spa which is a pool, outdoor sauna and hot tub. Unfortunately we found the pool to be too cold :( and also the hot tub - we had to get out because we could not warm up especially with how windy it was. But the views outside are stunning. Then we went to get washed and dressed before dinner. Unfortunately the shower was also not quite hot enough for us so maybe there was a heating issue in the hotel? The restaurant is superb and we really enjoyed all 3 courses. Extensive wine choices and cocktails. I was also treated to a complimentary birthday dessert.

We slept well (apart from some pigeons in the roof lol) and had a beautiful breakfast! Derbyshire oatcakes are my favourite and the cappuccino was stunning. If we had more time I can recommend the pub in town called the Cheshire Cheese for food and drinks.

All in all a lovely time thanks so much.

The amazing view of Losehill was a perfect reflection of the hotel itself.
Pros:

I have nothing but praise for the Hotel & Spa, from direct booking to the superb room facilities and the cheerful, efficient and willing to please staff in every department. As the spa treatment I received is very much ‘one to one’ I must compliment Dawn for her professional and thorough treatment given. So much to do and see in the surrounding area to suit everyone’s level of energy.

Beautiful location, staff were extremely helpful and the spa facilities were a bonus.
Pros:

Breakfast was amazing. Views from both our room and the dining area were stunning. Hot tub and pool were a bonus also with Views over the hills. Stunning walks directly from the hotel.

Cons:

The evening meal was delicious. However, my husband was still hungry at the end and given the price, this was a little disappointing.

Super Hotel in a super location.
Pros:

Had a 3 night Bed, Breakfast and Evening Meal break. Superb hotel with beautiful views, ample free parking, good rooms and a nice spa. It is in an ideal location for touring the High Peaks in one direction or the Dales in the other. Our room (number 1) was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. The Restaurant and bar were excellent with the food quality, service and ambience truly 4 star plus. It would have been nice to have had soup on the menu as a choice for a starter. The Derbyshire Breakfast is superb and negates any need for a lunch or even afternoon tea. The Spa was clean and warm, not crowded. The pool could perhaps have been warmer. The Hot Tub and Sauna both clean and enjoyable.

In addition to the location the staff make this hotel special. They are all polite, attentive and happy all of the time,

Well worth the money and heartily recommended.

Lovely 3 night break.
Pros:

This is a lovely hotel set in beautiful countryside. Quite a narrow road down to it which would be scary at night.

Very small spa with pool, hot tub and sauna.

The food is superb. The drinks on the expensive side.

Only negatives: The knives in the restaurant are very blunt and a full length mirror in the rooms would be helpful.

Glorious weekend
Pros:

This was a second visit to Losehill House Hotel with old friends.

The hotel is an an excellent location if you are keen on hiking; you can walk straight from the hotel without needing to drive any where.

The restaurant serves delicious food, using some locally sourced ingredients. The Hendersons butter and Treacle bread were particular favourites.

Best of all though are the wonderful staff who are friendly and good humoured. They really make this hotel special.
