I love the Michelangelo: I can’t imagine staying anywhere else.
Pros:

The staff is incredible—friendly, helpful and prompt to fulfill requests. Our room was gorgeous. And large!

Cons:

The location is so convenient: we walked nearly everywhere, and the subway is right around the corner, too. MOMA is two and a half blocks away, and there are fresh croissants across the street. What more could you want?

Reasonable price for a clean, comfortable room in the heart of the city.
Pros:

Nice size room and bathroom for a city hotel. Location was perfect.

Cons:

Bar and common area needs an update, the bright lights of the outside street vendor needs to be shaded or blocked out.

Excellent location, needs an update
Pros:

Great location, spacious room, very friendly & helpful stuff.

Cons:

Urgently in need of renovation, no coffee making amenities (only upon availability when you arrive). They demand 100$/night guarantee upon arrival without any prior notice. Poor breakfast, not worth spending on it.

convenient, old-world luxury in mid-town.
Pros:

The staff are superb - everyone is friendly and helpful. The location is convenient. The rooms are big enough to not feel cramped. Everything is clean. It has an old world, Italianate luxury and hasn't been remodelled to be just another cookie cutter boring design.

Cons:

Because I made the reservation through Booking.com, they weren't able to extend my stay by a day when I was already there. I had to go and make a separate additional booking.com booking for another night-- meaning I had to check out and then check in again.

Pros:

The hotel is undeniably beautiful, comfortable, and very well located. The rooms are spacious, though somewhat limited in natural light.

Cons:

It would have been great to have a kettle as the weather was really cold.
Regrettably, while the physical aspects of the property were positive, the service experience did not meet the standard one would expect. After a pleasant welcome upon arrival, the attentiveness of the reception staff diminished, and our inquiries often seemed to be treated as inconveniences.

Nice, quiet place in midtown at a good price
Pros:

Nice location, friendly staff and enjoyed the European style of furniture on the hallways and in the room.
Very reasonably priced was a plus.
