Pros:

I left before breakfast. Left my back pack in the room after checkout without realizing it until 11 hours later. I called the hotel in a panic but the front desk reassured me they had it and would ship it to me Monday morning - not to worry. It was a great relief as it contained important documents. Monday morning they shipped it with a tracking number as promised. Fantastic customer service!

Might not stay there again.
Pros:

It was very clean.

Cons:

The pool area needs repair. Outside of the building needs updating and repair. The parking lot is terrible.

The hotel needs repairs and updating. The parking area needs resurfacing and repair. The location is so-so. Had lots of trouble with the key cards, even after getting different ones from the desk, both for my room and the pool (which also needs repairs).

Bed was comfy and it was nice to have fridge, microwave and coffee in room.
Pros:

Breakfast was awesome but seating room was small. Had to take food back to eat. No room left to sit and eat.

Cons:

I felt the hotel could use a new carpet maybe just a remodel job. Bathroom shower head was not good. Room pretty small. Found a garbage can full of garbage in our room. For the price it needs some updates.

Would not choose this hotel again.
Pros:

Breakfast was nice. The staff were friendly. They accommodated our request to have two rooms next to each other.

Cons:

The facility was run down. The pool had rust on the walls and on some of the adaptive equipment. The building and parking lot seemed very original and more than a few decades old. The carpet in the room felt… slimy or slick or something.

Run down, sketchy location with some not so trustworthy individuals all around the parking lot, keys for room didn’t work, staff was decent enough.

Find somewhere else to stay if you can
Pros:

This hotel…used to be a nice and clean hotel. It is getting run down - doors are hard to open. Card reader on the east outside door works off and on. The rooms seem dirty and smell. The furniture is dingy looking. The bathroom is tiny. Closet door hits the door closer for the room. The bathroom door hits the shower curtain rod. My feet were clean before I showered, but from walking on the floor, black dirt came off of my feet in the shower. On Sunday morning, the 26th, the room or hotel, smelled like cat urine. The room was hard to control the temperature.

This place was once very nice. It no longer is. We only stayed here because there were no other rooms available in the Choice Hotel chain available in Waterloo/Cedar Falls.

I was told a year or two ago that this hotel would be modernizing. To date, nothing. The parking lot and entrance are in poor shape. The hotel is not at all inviting.

An efficient stay with little additional services that were commendable
Pros:

Good location, easy access to highway and restaurants. The morning breakfast was good, and the dining room was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Better room service ie., cleaning and laundry. No one came to ask if you needed help with anything or did we need additional towels, etc. The beds were never made up while we were there.

Mold all over, would never stay again
Pros:

Breakfast was ok.

Cons:

Our entire room floor was wet! Water damage on all the doors and up the walls. Mold was 100% in that room, you could smell it. The fridge didnt work and the A/C didnt blow cold (it was also very loud when running) absolutely would not stay again. Very dirty place

Pros:

Good area for shops and restaurants. No smoking property

Cons:

The hotel is outdated. Rust is on the doors. Never anyone at the service desk. Breakfast was minimal. Our room had an odor. We opened the windows and put a fan in to allow fresh air

Clean, quiet older hotel
Pros:

I was a bit nervous pulling up to the hotel because from the outside it looks rough; the driveway to the parking lot is falling apart which gives a bad impression. The building is quite dated but for the most part kept in fairly good condition. The room was a bit snug and the furnishings were dated but it was clean and quiet and the shower worked very well. Breakfast was very good. So overall I would recommend based on price for the area.
