Convent location but not a good neighborhood

This hotel…used to be a nice and clean hotel. It is getting run down - doors are hard to open. Card reader on the east outside door works off and on. The rooms seem dirty and smell. The furniture is dingy looking. The bathroom is tiny. Closet door hits the door closer for the room. The bathroom door hits the shower curtain rod. My feet were clean before I showered, but from walking on the floor, black dirt came off of my feet in the shower. On Sunday morning, the 26th, the room or hotel, smelled like cat urine. The room was hard to control the temperature.

This place was once very nice. It no longer is. We only stayed here because there were no other rooms available in the Choice Hotel chain available in Waterloo/Cedar Falls.

I was told a year or two ago that this hotel would be modernizing. To date, nothing. The parking lot and entrance are in poor shape. The hotel is not at all inviting.

Good location, easy access to highway and restaurants. The morning breakfast was good, and the dining room was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Large clean room. Easy parking and great late night check in procedure. Very good complimentary breakfast and friendly staff.

I was a bit nervous pulling up to the hotel because from the outside it looks rough; the driveway to the parking lot is falling apart which gives a bad impression. The building is quite dated but for the most part kept in fairly good condition. The room was a bit snug and the furnishings were dated but it was clean and quiet and the shower worked very well. Breakfast was very good. So overall I would recommend based on price for the area.

Stayed just one night, room was clean, bed comfy, shower hot, complimentary breakfast in morning was reasonable. Would return, thank you!

It was in a convenient location

A Great Place to stay for a reasonable price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Shower worked great and water was hot. Breakfast was good. We would definitely stay again next time we're in Waterloo.

Concrete parking lot is in terrible shape making it a wet mess when there’s a lot of rain. Couldn’t pull in under the roof at the front door with our truck and trailer because of the tight u-shape. Couldn’t walk on a sidewalk because of the design of the parking lot. So we had to walk in the numerous puddles in the parking lot in the rain. Checked in and went out the side door through the mud puddles and rain. Loaded the luggage carrier and went to the side door. No ramp there so lifted the heavy luggage rack up onto the sidewalk and in the door.

About 5 sheets of kleenexes were in the box. Ran out. Electric outlet and usb ports between the beds didn’t work. Found the cord plug was about to come out of the wall. Only two coffee packs were available for 2 room guests. Hair dryer didn’t work. Poor room prep. Coffee maker near front desk was empty at about 10:00 am. Would be nice to keep warm coffee after breakfast hours.
We chose this motel because of ratings and it’s pet friendly. Pet fee is excessive.

Nice workers, clean room and awesome shower saved the motel from worse review.

You can do much better!

great bed absolutely clean fresh linens nice pool, a couple of exercise machines, breakfast had choices and was filling. Staff was cleaning and mopping the hallways when we left at 11.
