L'accueil de Lolo, une femme pleine d'énergie avec un parcours incroyable. Elle nous fait sentir comme chez nous. Le lieu, un havre de paix. Le confort et la propreté des chambres. Les petits déjeuners sont très copieux. Bref, un séjour parfait.

C’était merveilleux. Les chambres sont luxueuses et l’environnement est incroyable. Lolo est à elle même un point fort du séjour : elle nous a mis en contact avec un super club de plongé et nous avons fait une très belle sortie. Toutes les adresses recommandées étaient parfaites. Séjour idéal, nous aurions aimé rester.
Le petit déjeuner et le dîner étaient très bons.

WOW! No exaggeration about Mikado Natural Lodge! 5 stars all the way and I have high standards ! LoLo one of the owners contacted me and kept in contact with me throughout my whole experience.. First off the property is stunning .. Clean..well built.. Sexy.. Romantic or Peaceful and Both! Breakfast is delish! The 3 course dinners are scrumptious ! The rooms are beautiful and luxurious yet giving you pure Jungle all around you! Infinity pool , trails, night swimming .. Hot tub with the sound of Hollar monkeys off in the distance! Prices are great ... Amenities first class! Ziplining Monkey excursion within 10 min drive! I cant wait to go back ! This is a jewel of a find!

Very well maintained property up in the hills near the Avellanas area. You’re in the mountains but close to the beach, so it’s a perfect balance. Feels isolated but you’re actually a short drive from all the area’s spots. Cabins are very well appointed, comfortable and private. Owner/Manager is very involved and available.

Mikato is made up of 6 individual guest cabins on about 7 acres of rugged terrain. The area and scenery are typical of the Guanacaste area of Costa Rica. I recommend having a car. Many small restaurants, bars, grocery stores and beaches (including busy Tamarindo) are within 15 to 30 minute drives from here. There is enough natural vegetation and landscaping that all cabins have visual privacy. The cabins are really nice, well maintained, very clean and modern. The a.c. worked very well, and there was a ceiling fan too. Each cabin has a private, covered deck... we used ours almost every morning and night. The open air (screened) bathroom was great.
Lolo (the owner) is a very nice person who always wants the best for you... she works non-stop. She's great. The breakfast is simple and very good... fruit, eggs, juice, coffee, yogurt and wonderful bread that Lolo bakes fresh each morning. There is a lovely, landscaped, well maintained pool... we made sue to spend at least a few hours there each day, and also used it in the later evenings with the stars and Moon overhead. Daily room service kept our cabin spotless. Though Makato is no cut-rate place to stay, we found it to be one of our best choices throughout our four extended visits to Costa Rica. We loved it.

We loved it here! From the moment we stepped in we felt like visiting friends. Breakfast was amazing, made to order, Lolo even got us a goat milk from a local farmer. Woke up every morning to the sounds of nature. Well maintained property. Our bungalow was spotless, comfortable, and spacious.

Mikado Natural Lodge was an absolute dream. The shower felt amazing, and the bed was so comfortable I could’ve stayed in it all day. The natural breeze made everything even more relaxing, and the host was incredibly kind and welcoming. The views from the deck were stunning, with howler monkeys in the distance adding to the experience. It’s such a peaceful and quiet place—perfect for unwinding. And the breakfast? Delicious and made just for us. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

Our stay at Mikado Lodge was an absolutely unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, we were embraced by an atmosphere of serenity and well-being, far from the hustle and bustle of tourism. This true haven of peace, nestled in an idyllic setting, offered us moments of pure joy and relaxation.

The location is simply perfect—secluded just enough to enjoy tranquility and nature, yet only a few minutes away from the most beautiful beaches, Tamarindo, and various activities. Every sunrise and sunset was a spectacle on its own, with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.

The facilities at Mikado Lodge are of exceptional quality. The beautifully landscaped gardens add an extra touch of charm and reflect the meticulous attention to detail.

As for the cabins, they were simply perfect! Spacious, bright, and impeccably clean. Every detail was carefully thought out to make us feel instantly at home, like a luxurious cocoon in the heart of nature.

Finally, the warm welcome and kindness of Laurence and her small team played a big role in making this stay truly memorable. Always available, attentive, and full of great advice, they made our experience even more special.

If you are looking for a place to disconnect, recharge, and enjoy a magical retreat, Mikado Lodge is a must-visit. One thing is certain—we will be back without hesitation!

Lolo is a wonderful host. Breakfast was delicious, as was dinner. Lolos yogurt and bread are spectacular. The property is beautiful and peaceful. It offers an oasis of tranquility separated from the beaches during high season. Rooms are clean, private and very comfortable. The pools is great too. Overall, it was just what we were looking for.

Staying at Mikado was one of the best stays we have had in recent memory! The peace and tranquility which we experienced during our all too brief stay, was nothing short of amazing. In addition, the surrounding scenery of the location offered fantastic views, and a calming ambience we could feel. Mikado is nestled away from touristy hustle on a calm and quiet road, however it is a very short drive away from many awesome attractions (I.e. world class beaches, Tamarindo, snorkelling, and horseback riding, just to name a few). The amenities at Mikado were top notch, as the infinity pool and the jacuzzi were spacious and clean. Notably, the surrounding gardens and landscaping of Mikado were some of the best kept I have seen in the area. As far as the cabins we stayed in, all we could say was: Muy Perfecto! From the moment we walked in, the attention to detail was apparent. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the layout provided everything we needed and more! Everything from the location, to the amenities, to the hospitality shown by Lolo and her staff was truly remarkable, and would absolutely have us stay here again in the future.

We just arrived home after a 14 day stay at Mikados. We have previously stayed at some of the large all inclusive resorts.
What a great breath of fresh air is Mikado and Lola, the owner/host/chef.
Mikado is located in a gorgeous jungle location full of animal and bird life. Every day we would spot more beautiful birds and monkeys with their babies. We never tired of sitting on the wonderful veranda watching the sun come up and go down.
The cabanas are very private and luxurious. With a beautiful rainshower and a stocked minibar, a king bed and what more could you ask for.
The property is gorgeous with a infinity pool,where there is never a rush for loungers. Oftentimes we were the only ones at the pool.
There is a nice walking path around the property as well.
And last but certainly not least is Lola, the wonderful host. She will do anything to make your stay special.
Breakfast and dinner was always amazing. She is always there to see if you need anything. She makes great cocktails and always has suggestions for other restaurant options.
All in all a very great, relaxing experience.

The property is spectacularly beautiful with open vistas through magnificent trees and other foliage. The owners have done a great job with landscaping especially around the pool and each one of the private cabanas. Lolo is an excellent host that lovingly prepared our incredible breakfasts each morning. Plenty of coffee, juice, freshly cut fruits, homemade bread and yogurt. We enjoyed lazing around the pool, hiking the property, watching birds, monkeys, and iguanas. We will be back!

We had a lovely stay at Mikado Lodge, the room and pool area was amazing and the staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure you enjoyed your stay. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Lola is amazing! She went above and beyond for us and the property is clean and beautiful. The roads in Costa Rica are rough dirt with huge pot holes though you’ll definitely want a small SUV
