Pros:

Great location, grand old hotel. The atrium room was good with comfortable superking bed. Friendly reception staff. The bar is pretty soulless and was closed for the first two nights of our stay and empty for the next two days. There is underground parking for £15 per week, which is good value.
We ate at the Asian restaurant, which was busy with good food and good service. Breakfast was not that great.
There is a swimming pool, though we didn’t use it.

Cons:

For the cost of the room, I was astonished that there is no routine servicing of the room. We were told when we checked in that it would be done on the third day of our stay. It wasn’t.

The hotel was very nice although we hadn't done our research properly and found the railways closed
Pros:

Room was spacious with a balcony from which doors could be left open to overlook the atrium.

Cons:

Additional hooks in the hallway and bathroom would have been nice.

A welcome retreat at The Sefton.
Pros:

I was well looked after by all the staff during my stay, being on my own, I appreciated this. The room was large and comfortable. The swimming pool is warm and inviting. The garden room is beautiful.
Staying at The Sefton was a great experience

Cons:

Only one small thing. The temperature of the leisure pool shower needs to be warming.

Excellent one of the best hotels i have stayed in especially the staff
Pros:

Virtually everything was superb.

Cons:

First day breakfast was excellent but the rest of the stay food although ok was not as nice. Had an issue with the door card on two days . These are obviously cosmetic issues but stopped the hotel from getting a score of ten.

First and last time to stay at The Sefton
Pros:

* location
* comfortable mattress
* large bathroom
* big windows to look out over the harbour
* paid private car park

Cons:

* poor and untimely communication via Booking Com messaging system in particular with car parking directions. They sent me there blurb on hourly parking prices (all good) however upon arrival at the ferry terminal I messaged again asking for any signage directions to their underground parking station. I did not get a response until the following morning. Useless. This is not good enough. We had to park the car outside the front door, go in and ask how to get to their car park. This information was provided by a friendly young lady at reception.
* we approached the front desk after parking to ask if the date and time were correct on the card provided for use on the dashboard and were greeted by an officious, sarcastic female night duty manager who we suspect has reached her use by date when dealing with international guests. Her attitude was absolutely unwarranted
and disrespectful. Perhaps the Sefton hotel management should ask themselves if this person is the one to be representing the company at the front desk? We won’t return.
