Please note the Sefton Hotel will be carrying out works to the front of the building which requires scaffolding between 1st January 2024 - 1st April 2024. The work carried out will be during the day and we expect little to no disruption to guests staying in our Atrium rooms, Standard rooms or Suites. Guest can still utilize the rest of the building. Sir Norman's Bar and Bonzai Restaurant will operate as normal.

Beste Wahl in Douglas - Isle of Man - Historical Railways!
Pros:

Sehr gute Lage in Douglas - Direkt an der Promenade und bei der Shopping-Main-Street. 800m zur Fähre, 800m zum Bahnhof (Dampfzüge), 100m zum Horse Tram (mit Verbindung zur Manx Electric Railways), 500m zur Busstation. Sehr schönes historisches Gebäude - mit schönem Atrium (Zimmer entsprechend buchen). Sehr freundliche und kundenorientierte Dame an der Réception beim Check-In und am Tag 2 (das übrige Personal später Tag 3/4 war leider weniger aufmerksam - Check-out = nur ein Wort!). Restaurant im Hause mit guter Qualität, allerdings leider nur asiatisch.
Schönes grosses Zimmer erhalten (upgrade). Sehr gut eingerichtet, alles funktioniert perfekt (inklusive Warmwasser, Heizung, Isolation Fenster usw). Ortsübliches Frühstücksbuffet in einem schönen Saal. Zimmerservice ebenfalls gut.

Fantastic characterful hotel in a great location
Pros:

Some would call it tired, I cal it character. Yes, it’s an old building but the staff and location are fantastic.

Cons:

It can be noisy outside with teenage groups in the early hours, particularly at weekends

Enjoyable stay looking forward to coming back

It’s a place we visit quite often and the location is fantastic

Cons:

Didn’t like the room we were given I am quite claustrophobic so it didn’t suit me, had to pay £60 to upgrade to another room which was much better.

Great location staff friendly and helpful. Comfy bed great sleep. Large room really good sized bathroom . The room was comfortable .

Felt the hotel was a little tired, first impressions in reception were good,but room was dated and paint flaking off the wall around the window. The pool area wasn't great ,the changing rooms were freezing the sauna was locked and I think there use to be a hot tub / jacuzzi which is borded over . The pub attached to the hotel had a very strong smell of cooking fat and was like a school disco... people vaping everywhere inside. ...Overall this did not effect our stay they are just our observations . This would not stop us staying here again as the hospitality of the staff made the stay lovely.

A fine base to work around the island from. A tinge of Art Deco about it still - lovely
Pros:

Staying at The Sefton is like stepping back in time, to a nostalgic era, not felt in many of todays vacation destinations. Being old and traditional does nor mean dusty and dingy and The Sefton was bright, clean and perfectly presented. We thoroughly enjoyed our too brief a stay.
All of the staff were enthusiastic and pleasant, with straight answers and good advice on enhancing out visit, while you couldn't find a better location from which to explore Douglas from.
The atrium double room that we stayed in was larger than the double rooms we have booked over our last few trips 'away', and the bathroom modern and clean, with all of the expected accoutrements although, the loo seat was a little loose..!
The buffet breakfast could easily cover all tastes and there was an 'a la carte' choice for anything extra. The underground car-park could probably house 20 vehicles but there is a large public car park approx. 50 yds up the road or on the promenade, if no space available.

Cons:

Nothing to dislike but a couple of observations...
Our 'double' was the usual 2 x singles secured together, which was OK but the mattresses were getting towards their 'replacement date' and didn't offer much in the way of firm support (which I personally prefer).
Overlooking the atrium, with the balcony doors open you could hear other guests on occasion. Shutting the balcony doors negated this but that cut out the fresh air, they being the only source of ventilation.

First class
Pros:

Absolutely beautiful hotel, clean, comfortable & the staff were so friendly. I’d 100% stay here again & for longer than one night!

Cons:

The only slight niggle was lack of plug sockets by the bed, but it’s an older hotel - built long before we needed to charge our phones next to the bed!
