Ideal location to visit family, continental style breakfast was fine and, while not extensive, had the essentials (for me). Good value for money and breakfast was included in the price. Staff were helpful and friendly. Bedroom was very clean and well appointed.
Not a lot wrong here.
Heating in room was good, bed was comfortable, room was fine. Bar and restaurant was fine with good selection of bar type food.
Breakfast was dreadful. No cooked breakfast. Fruit on offer was past best - bananas brown, plum with split skin. Continental breakfast with a very small offering of cheese and ham - barely enough on the table for 2 guests. Must rank as the worst breakfast I've experienced. Booking.com should highlight if there's no cooked breakfast so fault not just on the hotel.
Well located for our UK travels. Plenty of parking, room 1 upstairs was very neat, clean, comfortable bed and generous bathroom. Coffee and tea facilities in room, with biscuits and bottled water was very nice. Quiet at night, maybe a bit of train noice the other end of the building. Food and drink service was very prompt, dining room had a good range of meals available. Breakfast was a very generous continental.
Nil.
Location the room the whole lot was very nice will stay again if in the area
Could do with a handle to help get out of bath/shower
Posto davvero bello, camere pulite e moderne, con possibilità di biliardo. Struttura bellissima tipica Inglese e immersa nel verde
Room was clean and acceptable. Decent shower.
Arrived at 7:15 PM to be told that they'd finished serving evening dinner at 7:00 PM!!! - no other options so had to travel to Dorchester for food.
Breakfast was barely adequate with little choice, and looked thrown together. Orange juice glasses were filthy so went without . Croissants were stale & cheese slices curled, coffee was OK. There were barely enough tables for everyone and no staff were in attendance at breakfast to assist or clear away.
Staff in general were perfunctory.
We had emailed the hotel beforehand and been told it was "no problem" to leave our car in car park for a couple of days prior to our arrival by bike. When we arrived we were told that it was not acceptable to do this and had to find elsewhere to park. I accept that it was a slightly special request, but why tell us it was OK when it actually wasn't?
Hotel is right next to railway and level crossing, with gate alarms going off and trains thundering past every 1/2 hour or so.
Room was clean and well equipped with tea and coffee options.
Bed was very comfortable, pillows slightly less so.
Bathroom cupboard in bathroom gave somewhere to put stuff out of sight - an unexpected bonus as so often bathroom shelf space is minimal.
Shower excellent.
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Continental buffet breakfast. Good variety but a bit carbohydrate-heavy.
Would be nice to have teapots available rather than just cups.
No towel rails to hang wet towels over. Hate having to drape them around the bedroom to dry, but totally agree no need to change every day.
No grab rail in shower.
The "whisky" range in the bar was strange - in fact it was whiskey or bourbon. Scotch whisky range in the bar could do with some expansion. No tomato juice either.
Near to wedding venue
Good car park
Clean comfortable good towels
TV generous tea/coffees etc hairdryer nice shampoo etc
Small twin room with tiny bathroom with shower only
Couldnt open window
Was literally right next to railway
Good continental breakfast but thought it was going to be cooked options
Had to pay extra for a latte coffee
Breakfast was ok, croissants could have been fresher and coffee a bit less stewed.
I think both the china and glassware could have bee cleaner, checked when taken out of the dishwasher, many stains on glasses and remains of coffee or tea stains on cups
Well refurbished accommodation. Bed very comfy. Room spotless. Well presented room.
Pub very friendly, staff wonderful. Food excellent. Would definitely stay here again.
