Lovely rooms but dirty pool
Pros:

Bedrooms were beautiful, clean and modern. The shower was probably the best I’ve ever experienced in a hotel before - amazing water pressure and always hot. Beds were huge and comfortable, and the room was nice and dark at night, though we did have to cover up the aircon light.

Cons:

The pool area was disappointing. Looked much bigger in the photos, and for the number of guests there are a very limited number of sun beds. My biggest issue was however that the pool was actually really dirty. It couldn’t be seen from a distance but when we got in the pool you could see so much mould lining all the grouting that would come off in your hand if you brushed it lightly meaning it clearly hadn’t been clean properly in a long time or alternatively, the chemicals must not be the right balance as I also found my skin stung after swimming. Seems picky but I promise if you look you’ll see it’s a real issue.

Sehr schönes Hotel - gerne wieder
Pros:

Sehr schönes Stadthotel, tolle Lage gleich neben/in Little India. Viele Lokale in Gehreichweite. Das Hotel war elegant und traditionsreich, jedoch sehr modern aussgebaut. Wir liebten das Zimmer und vor allem die große Dusche. Highlight war auch der Trinkwasserhahn im Zimmer. Wir liebten das Design des Hotels. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend. Der Rooftop Pool und die Bar waren ein toller Tagesausklang.

Cons:

Das Gym ist nicht für Kraftsport geeignet.

Exceptional stay in Penang
Pros:

Good location, comfortable room, excellent value for money and really nice staff made for a great stay in Penang. Very highly recommended.

Cons:

This is nitpicking but, as nice as the room was, a little more storage space for clothes would be good.

The design of the hotel is unique. I like the details in the room. Shower room shower head pressure was great. Housekeeping is good and efficient.

Classy spot, good value
Pros:

I stayed here in Feb 2026. It is a really nice "boutique" hotel in a histotical building. It is in a historic area, near the Queen Victoria clock tower and Fort Cornwallis (and the coast) on one side and Little India on the other. Close to most things. I paid c. €462 for 3 nights which I thought was good value all in all.

As a smaller boutique hotel in an older building, they have made it really pretty with an open glass mall and reception/ restaurant area. The rooms are comfortable.

The top feature is the pool area with lovely views of the coast/port and "other side". It is a small pool with only about 8-10 deck chairs but really nice once you get a spot. There is a little cocktail bar too. There is only a very small gym area but that's ok!

I must say the staff here are noticeably nice and friendly and always smile and say hi and offer to help. I didn't eat here so can't comment but they did give a complimentary drink. I really enjoyed here as a base in Penang. Classy!

Beautiful hotel with incredibly hospitable staff abd outstanding service
Pros:

Beautiful hotel in a really excellent location for access to George Town. The staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful and friendly - extremely hospitable. The pool is stunning and the gym whilst on the small side is great. Really good to have filtered water on tap in the room. Air con great and super quiet.

Cons:

Bar prices are expensive comparative to the local area - RM30 for a small bottle of beer. Food by contrast fairly comparable to other George Town restaurants. Laundry service expensive - locally sourced alternative was 80% cheaper than the price forecasted by the hotel service

Kommen sehr gerne wieder
Pros:

Sehr gute Lage, Altstadt und Promenade am Meer fussläufig, Roof top kleiner aber sehr schön angelegter Pool mit toller Aussicht auf die Bay, sehr schöne Zimmer, top sauber, angenehme Grösse, sehr ruhig, Minibar Service inklusive, Frühstück mit gutem Buffet plus auch a la carte Service für Kaffee, Getränke mit frischen Obstsäften und verschiedenen Speisen

Overall a good stay
Pros:

The staff were great, especially the porters, housekeeping and breakfast staff. Not so much the check in staff, though they were fine. The room was spacious and clean though the stained chair was off putting. The free mini bar drinks, fruit and toiletries in the room went above and beyond what we would expect. And the free films were great too. The pool area was lovely with a fabulous view, not many sunbeds though. The location was good for Georgetown.

Cons:

We were disappointed with the location of our room as there was no view whatsoever, just a high hedge beyond which were the walls of buildings. There were some thoughtful touches at breakfast: a little oven to warm pastries and soy milk. The breakfast had all of the main offerings though some individual items could have been slightly better: better quality yoghurt and cereals and more fruit.

Loved it!
Pros:

Loved this hotel, the pool was stunning, perfect temperature and often very quiet. A must-have for how hot it is in February. The location was perfect, a short walk from all the attractions. The staff were lovely. The hotel is carpeted, even the rooms, meaning it’s so super quiet which I loved, got some great sleeps! Room service food very tasty and reasonably priced. Didn’t want to leave!
