Hanoi Malo Boutique Hotel

First of all may the reception girl was absolutely amazing. On the other hand the boss lady was not so amazing. Small rude behaviors. Always dressed up in some fancy outfits. Then when the new manager came she rudely told me to deal with although I had dealt with her for a few days.
Room was clean and comfy.

The place had a different name than what's on hotels. Com.

First of all this hotel doesn’t even exist. It is under a new name. There are much better places to stay at at this price point. All they did was try to sell us tours over and over and every night the lobby was full of people complaining about how the rooms do not look as they did in the pictures. The building is old and not well maintained and the attitude towards good service was lacking. Clean sheets were being folded on the floor and staircase, and despite having one of the nicest rooms in the building, the room had and odd smell, the walls were dirty, the shower door was missing, and the window blinds did not go up. It is not worst possible room but at the price it’s listed and the pictures posted, it is a scam.

My friend and I stayed here for two nights and I’m NEVER one to complain. But this was one of the worst experiences. When we arrived they told us that we were being “upgraded” and walked us to a completely different hotel. That hotels AC didn’t work and I went to let the front desk know so we could get moved. It was SO hot in that room, we were miserable. They told me I had to go back to the original hotel to tell them???? I eventually got them to come up to the room to look at it. The man looks at it, tells me it’s broken, tells me to wait there and then I didn’t hear from him for HOURS. Then finally in the middle of the night they moved us BACK to the original hotel. They treated me like I was a child and an Idiot. After reading more reviews i’ve noticed that stuff like this happens a lot. Do not waste your money on this place, you will 100% be able to get more out of your money somewhere else.

Great hotel and great location. Good and new room

My family had excellent experience with this hotel, the family suite room so big and comfortable for family of 4 members. Ms Rosa hotel manager was super nice and helpful, she treated us like her friends, organized everything for us in Vietnam for 1 months travel. We love ❤️ so much Malo hotel and ms Rosa

Fantastic location. Clean rooms and spacious for its location. Friendly and welcoming staff.

The hotel is hidden from the road. The sign is invisible. It was hard to find. The path to the hotel is narrow and dirty. The rooms had insects and roaches. One of the rooms did not have soap. The hotel did not have dining facility. We were escorted to eat breakfast in another hotel. The price is high for such a hotel -- $20 per night is more reasonable than I had paid to reserve it.

i arrived in the early hours of the morning, and the check-in was not particularly welcoming. I realise she wanted to get to sleep, but no information or advice was given to me.
Lots of building work going on, and a loud generator was close to my outer wall, so quite noisy.
No other information regarding the area or any local maps provided. I did not feel particularly welcome. But was clean and tidy, and room was quite nice.

Nice quiet property close to the river, however quite difficult to find as it’s down an alleyway. The room was nice and had a mini fridge and soaps for the shower etc. Staff were very helpful with booking a taxi to the airport

Rooms not what it looks like in the pictures. Old and run down. Room and lifts smelt damp. Beds old and not comfortable

This is a 2 star hotel.

Our family of four were given a free upgrade to a larger suite upon arrival. The room had all of the basics with additional toiletries. The air conditioners worked well and the room and beds were clean. Even though the entrance is hidden away the hotel is in a convenient area of the Old Quarter. I felt that this was a great value for the price.

Got room in the 7th floor. Lift available only till the 6th floor.
Also the property has a narrow entrance through a shady area.

The property was not the property advertised on the Hotels.com website. When we arrived, we couldn’t find it! There was a construction site operating on Lo Su Avenue right in front of the hotel. What we enjoyed was the helpful and friendly staff, the large two rooms we occupied and the affordability. Fortunately, we spend three days at Ha Long Bay and the Malo was a safe and affordable place to keep our excess luggage. The people were great but the property needs A LOT!! Of attention to become a desired destination hotel.
