A super place to be based in the city for a few days
Pros:

Very well located centrally, easy to access the sights, spacious, huge bed, excellent food, brilliantly helpful staff. Very helpful on dietary issues. Useful gym and laundry room.

Cons:

Organise the lift to stop stopping at floor 4 all the time!

Pleasant stay
Pros:

Excellent breakfast, very cool meditation nook in the room. Some nice touches in our room like a record player with vinyls, a Bose speaker, and books on Kyoto as well as some cool technology to manage lights, etc.

Cons:

Elevator was usually full and always stopped at fourth floor. Area was very commercial. Could be a plus for some but we were more interested in traditional Kyoto.

Lovely rooms, a home from home. Friendly staff and I would stay again
Pros:

Beautiful rooms, well decorated and spacious ample room with 2 cases. The only place on my Japan trip with somewhere to sit and do makeup. I particularly liked that outdoor footwear comes off just inside the door and only slippers are used on the wooden floor, leaving this more modern hotel with a touch of tradition. Very well located with lots of things I wanted to see and do within walking distance. Close enough to one of the main streets to be super convenient but not overwhelmingly busy or crowded. I stayed for 7 nights while exploring Kyoto and its surroundings and I would stay again.

Cons:

I arrived earlier than check in time. I explained stuff that we had 20 hours flight/ train journey and asked if the room can be made available earlier. They said no. The room was made available at 3pm on a dot. I can't believe they could not accommodate us
