We absolutely loved our stay at Good Nature Hotel Kyoto. The hotel manages to be both environmentally conscious and also luxurious, which is not always easy to achieve. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a Kawaramachi Suite and were amazed by how spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed it was. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and the location was perfect for exploring Kyoto on foot. Being able to walk to Nishiki Market, Pontocho Alley, and Gion was a huge bonus. We would happily stay here again!
Nothing – we only wish we could have stayed longer!
Breakfast was wonderful! Loved that there were plenty of vegan options for me and that the dishes were labeled.
The Deluxe Corner Twin was perfect for the 3 of us. We added an extra bed and the room was still spacious enough for us. Loved that the toilet had its own door. Made sharing the bathroom easier. The lights are controlled by a tablet so we could turn them off from bed. Loved that the staff restocked our water bottles daily.
We were celebrating my sister’s and nephew’s 21st bday and the hotel left them a small gift in the room. Very sweet!
On one of the floors, there is a shopping area where you can buy unique souvenirs. Several restaurants located within the hotel. Best part was the market on the first floor. Loaded up on snacks for the train ride to our next city.
Although we did not use it very much, the outdoor seating in the lobby area was calming. Nice to sit down and get some fresh air.
Wish there had been late night room service. Sometimes we’d get back to the hotel really late and there aren’t very many late night vegan options around us. My sister and nephew are not vegan and they were able to eat at a ramen place and I settled for French fries as my meal.
Without a doubt the most gorgeous hotel I’ve stayed at. Amenities were incredible, and the staff could not have been more helpful. Only had 2 nights here, and already know we will be booking here the next time we visit Kyoto. We were upgraded upon check in and our room had a patio with a view of the beautiful greenery from the atrium.
No private/public bath
Everything. Paying for a great stay here.
Clean, large room, great location, comfortable pyjamas.
The decorative slats on the windows cut out some of the natural light. There was no body lotion in the room. The elevator automatically opened on the 4th floor (lobby) on every elevator ride.
Beautiful hotel with insanely spacious rooms. Our suite was nearly 1,000sq ft so basically a large apartment! The hotel bright, airy and with lots of gorgeous greenery. Staff super helpful and polite. I would recommend it.
Location is excellent for strolling into Gion and surrounding narrow streets area. REally great,
I would still recommend this hotel but;
A lot of road / street noise during our stay until 11pm / 12am every night (4th floor)
Breakfast isnt great; the main reception area and restuarnt is in this beautiful bright atirum area, but they send you down into a windowless basement dungeon for breakfast. So if you go down after a shower you can expect to smell like food for the rest of the day.
Coffee is absolutely terrible, from an automated machine
Rooms can feel over-engineered with a tablet to control everything instead of switches which can get really annonying
Absolutely every detail was perfect.
Location fantastic.
Staff were exceptional.
Our suite was divine!
Loved every element.

Beautiful hotel. High quality room furnishings and fixtures. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. Best buffet breakfast I have ever had! Great location.
The fact that you couldn’t open the window blinds in the room and let natural light in.
It's a perfect hotel, great location, super clean. The staff is amazing and the beds are comfy. Also the room is very spacious.
The staff was wonderful. Very helpful. Breakfast was great. Market and restaurant were excellent.
The fitness center was small and not much equipment.
