Our go-to hotel in Melbourne
Pros:

This is the third year my husband and I have gone to the Australian Open and the third different hotel we've booked. The reason for this is that we were only partially satisfied with the other two and each had its share of problems. Not so with the Novotel. We loved it. From the comfort of the room, view, and amenities to a superb full breakfast buffet, every aspect ran like a well-oiled machine. We were also able to get different pillows on request, which made all the difference in my quality of sleep. Customer service was impeccable, and a special shout out to breakfast management and staff. They were run ragged every morning and handled it all like true professionals.

Hotel is centrally located for all the arcades, laneways and shopping, and an easy walk for us to the AO event or water taxi. We'll definitely be staying here again next year.

Amazing location. The pool while small was a nice bonus. The water in the room, provided was also appreciated

The room we had was pretty old and tired. And in great need of a refurb.
Carpet was old and worn, and had a bit rip across near the door which was dangerous as it could be a trip hazard for some. Luckily we only had 1 night and were able to avoid it.

Additionally the beds moved every time you sat or lay on them. We had twin beds and kept moving closer every time we touched the beds.

Also the hair dryer attachment did not actually fit the hair dryer…and the bathroom supplies while provided were rather low. The body wash was either not a working dispenser or was empty.
