Pros:

Restaurant and bar staff were fantastic and extremely friendly.
Concierge staff were also kind enough to organise a taxi for us.

Cons:

Room was too small for three people, despite this being recommended. Double beds were not suitable at all.
Bottom sheets of the beds were not made at any point, only the top sheets. Nor was the coffee replenished.
There were also not enough enough mugs/glasses for 4 people, despite the room technically being able to hold that many people.
On one occasion housekeeping had not been to the room by 4:00pm and needed to be asked to attend to the room. It was not quite finished 30-40 minutes later when we returned.
1 of 3 elevators are currently operating, which is not practical for a hotel of such size.

Pros:

The location was great... close to public transport, beautiful Arcades for shopping and dining.
The Valet parking was a great service.
Staff were friendly. I checked my bag in early and it hadn't been taken to our room... this was quickly rectified. The room service offered a great selection of food. It was delivered hot and fresh.
I would probably consider staying again.

Cons:

The beds were not very comfy. The only view was looking down on open plan offices. The shower was over the bath. The photos of our room showed a large bathroom with 2 vanities.
Only 2 cups for tea/coffee placed on a coaster which was dirty. Not enough tea and coffee provided.

It was good place to stay
Pros:

Close to everything, friendly staff and the breakfast was good.

Cons:

It’s just the lift was uncomfortable but anyway it’s under renovation I think but that is considered to understand.

Special occasion stay elevated to next level!
Pros:

Wow incredible stay as a platinum explorer plus member at this ideally located Accor establishment in Melbourne on the famous Collins Street.

Everything was great from the facilities to rooms to dining and breakfast especially as we were celebrating a special occasion.

Let me address the lift situation that so many have commented on. The management are moving mountains to get the new lifts in and operational as quickly as is humanly possible. I stayed Sunday and Monday and had absolutely no delays at all either downstairs or from reception to the rooms. I do believe there are some small delays during peak periods but I never experienced it and I was in and out of the hotel a lot.

Accor loyalty members benefits fully applied with a fantastic breakfast spread and great cocktails and dinner options. Great gym and pool area spa under maintenance but no big deal.

Represents great value at the right price with a huge “watch this space” with some serious upgrades coming from what I hear of the grapevine.

No review would be complete without a famous mrmakemystay shout out to the amazing front and back office champions including Cristelle(FOM), Ema, Merina, Jessica, Udara, concierge angels including Joseph, Sal, Elizabeth, Laura, Julian, Daniel and in F&B Makoto and Mr Steven, chef Buddhisha and manager Perera. All the staff were incredibly friendly, professional and welcoming.

Novotel on Collins has absolutely made my stay! High recommendation from me a seasoned traveller.

Room not ready until 2.30, not being told about problems with the lifts until I questioned why it took 20 to come down from the 8th floor. Apparently there was a sign at concierge but not noticeable. I stubbed my toes going to the bathroom- no warning strip regarding the small step.
