The rooms were very spacious and clean, fitting nicely with the San Diego beach theme! Wonderful staff, and a great bar. I enjoyed the in-room Starbucks first thing in the morning although there was also free coffee in the lobby.
Thank you Zijan for making our stay so pleasant with all of your assistance.

Hotel con camere confortevoli , la nostra al secondo piano con vista Baia di San Diego e terrazzino, ben insonorizzate. Molto pulito .
Parcheggio un po caro ma nella media dei luoghi più turistici. Tassa di soggiorno 30 USD
Great hotel that we will stay at again (we only live an hour north of it)! Pictures online reflect the hotel properly.
Only comment would be that staff should review notes made on the booking reservation websites. They completely missed my telling them this was a special birthday trip within our 4 night stay. The front desk was surprised when I mentioned it on check in and nothing was done later to recognize the event.
One thing to note if staying during the summer. The hotel next door does summer concerts with big name performers. You can hear the show from the restaurant and pool area. Check Humphry's By the Sea for their schedule. Stay here and walk over if you are going to the show.
Chambre confortable donnant sur la marina
Parking payant 16 usd
Check in in front desk. Staff were very fast, helpful, and friendly, our room was beautiful, overlooking the boats in the harbor, and it was short walk to see the concert. We came for.
Decent, practical, convenient.
No regular bottled waters, even for just 2 per room per day.
The staff was unbelievably helpful, friendly and even fun. Food from the kitchen is delicious and the location is in a primo spot.
Well, the only thing lacking for this hotel might be exterior presentation. It looks a bit weathered upon arrival.
However after that, what a great spot outside of the city with marina views and bay views. Not to mention the service was top notch and the hotel was very clean.
Upon entering our room we noticed how clean and spacious it was. Often times a hotel for four can be crammed and it didn’t feel so here. The ability to control the room temp was great and the balcony gave us a nice view of the bay and boats.
A walkable area with small coffee shops and restaurants, the location is great for being near OB and PB without being in the city.
If you enjoy boats ir are a fisherman, or just want to be outside the hustle of the city, this is a great place at a great price. Oh and did I mention, skyline views of the city too?
Although we didn’t use all amenities, the Pool was serviceable and clean, as was the hotel tub.
Wonderful place to stay and we would definitely recommend.
This is a cute little hotel, right on the Marina on Shelter Island, and I enjoyed my stay - for 2 1/2 weeks. My review is based on my room being one of the larger rooms facing the Marina, because the view from my room was amazing. However, the views of the rooms on the other side are quite different - the view on the other side is of the parking lot, the street, more parking lot then the harbor, and in the distance, downtown San Diego.
Which brings me to my experience at check in - the staff was friendly and check in was pretty quick, I initially had a room with harbor/downtown views and when I made it to the room I was extremely disappointed, the view was of the parking lot, the street, more parking lot and downtown San Diego and the harber in the distance, and the balcony was very small without even a chair in it.
So, I went back down to reception and was honest with them, and they were kind enough to let me go see a couple of the rooms on the Marina side - I was able to switch, for a higher price, and with the Marina view - my feelings changed.
This hotel is on the smaller side, only 2 floors, a diner and bar facing the Marina, and a friendly staff.
The bathrooms have been renovated, and the hotel is overall well maintained for its age, and feels clean, even if a pinch dated.
The only thing that I think they could easily improve: they have a small fridge in the room, and sitting directly on top of the fridge is the microwave, and on top of the microwave is the coffee maker! As in just on top of each other, no table or console. So, where am I supposed to put my cup to make the coffee...?
A small table is not a large expense, and this is not a dorm room, honestly I have never seen that at a hotel, saw that years ago in a dorm room!
House-keeping did a good job, and the bathroom and towels were clean. The food at the restaurant was ok, and their service was good, nothing too fancy. Their winning ticket was the Marina view, and just the relaxing easy going vibe of Shelter Island.
Although you have easy access to downtown San Diego, because it is a short ride away.... you get to feel the quiet nights, and easy vibe of Shelter Island.
I will be frank - if not for the Marina views of the room I changed to, I would have left on the second day, but the Marina view ....day and night, and the pure silence you can experience at night with those views..... made me stay for 2 1/2 weeks.
Great hotel for experience, location, comfort, relative price compared to downtown. Great for walking , marine and bay views, and close to a few great resturants
The location was ideal for relaxation. Additionally, the hotel staff were delightful and welcoming. The swimming pool was pleasant. Several cafes and restaurants were conveniently located nearby.
I was surprised to discover that the bathtub was quite low and that there were no shower facilities. I was informed that a shower would have been available had I reserved a room specifically designed for disabled access. I found this to be an unusual requirement, as in all my solo travels, this was the first time I had encountered such a situation.
We had a good stay at the Bay Club Hotel & Marina on Shelter Island, especially for the price. The location is great—you can easily walk to nearby restaurants, the marina, and boat tours, which made it very convenient.
The biggest downside was that our room was nearly 80 degrees when we arrived. It would be a huge improvement if housekeeping turned on the air conditioning before guests check in. The room has an older wall unit, and it took about four hours to cool down, which was not ideal after traveling.
Other than that, the room was clean and nicely remodeled, although the overall hotel is a bit dated. The beds were surprisingly comfortable, and every staff member we interacted with was friendly and helpful.
Overall, it is a solid value in a great location. With a better arrival experience in the rooms, it would have been an even better stay.
Pretty location nice size room free coffee in lobby
Housekeeping forgot our towels and bath mat first night. Left the garbage on our bathroom sink and refrigerator door open ( had our food and medicine in it. Small pool . Slightly dated furnishings. No slippers or robes.
