Bay Club Hotel and Marina

We have stayed here on three separate occasions. We always get the bay front king rooms. The value for the money is huge - location, location, location! We really enjoy that bay view. Value - so reasonably priced and rooms are spacious. Could the rooms use an update? Sure but honestly, they are spotless with comfortable beds and again, the location is awesome. Staff super friendly and attentive. I highly recommend a stay here.

I liked that it was next to the Bay, I liked seeing all the boats in the Marina and I really liked the restaurant. Our room was big and very comfortable. I would stay here again.

My first time staying here. Very casual, relaxed vibe overall, and a great staff who often remember your name and/or room number. The on-site restaurant is small with a limited menu, but the food was wonderful.
My room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The only downside I can think of is that the walls in the rooms are very thin and need some sort of soundproofing (if possible). My room faced the yacht club right next door and their outside activities were a bit noisy, especially around the pool.

Location

I did a lot of research before deciding on a hotel in San Diego. The Bay Club and Marina was perfect! It's a smaller hotel but what it lacks in size it makes up for in everything else. The staff at the front were extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice and the pool wasn't too large but big enough for your needs. The parking wasn't an issue. They have parking in front of the hotel but if you prefer there is underground parking. The location is central to so many attractions in San Diego and is, just about, 15-20 away from most things you'll want to do. I did arrive about 45 minutes before check in and they offer you an earlier room for just $25. I highly recommend this hotel on Shelter Island!!

I love the view ,I should say we love it I always like to take a stroll by the water this place was just perfect ,also it was a Pier close by my husband Lowe's fishing so it was pretty nice

A big thank you to Lupe who enquired about my housekeeping preferences upon request and thereafter. I stayed 18 nights but didn't want to leave. Will return for the relaxed feeling this home away from home gave me.

Stayed 1 night at the Bay Club hotel -it was just ok
room was nice -bathroom was older outdated old tub with shower curtain
older tile counter tops and older sink faucet handles
peeling paint above toilet
balcony had peeling paint worn areas
no complimentary breakfast if you want to check in early or stay later
they will charge you nice location just fair ok for overnight
parking lot is small outdoor lot and they do a have a parking garage also

My wife and I stayed here for 6 nights. We’d chosen a room with a view over the marina and that was definitely a great choice. As we had one of the rooms where the hotel extends out, we had two balconies which offered us a stunning all around view of the marina.

The room itself was large with a comfortable king sized bed and a separate seating area and round dining table. The room was clean and quiet, even with the bar area directly below. There was plenty of parking available either in front of the hotel or in the underground parking area.

The bar and restaurant staff were friendly and efficient and the prices were also very good for the area. The location is fantastic as it’s quiet (with the exception of aircraft from the airport and naval base) but still easy to get to the rest of San Diego with downtown or the Old Town only a 15-20 minute drive away.
