Holiday Inn Express Chesapeake - Norfolk by IHG

The furniture was very worn in the breakfast area, the bath towels had holes in them, the bed comforter had a hole in it. And there was a bug in the bathtub.

There were 4 of us and they only gave us 3 sets of towels.

The bed it could have had better support way too soft

There was a lot of noise with people running in the halls and slamming doirs

We didn't get the room that we paid for.
We didn't receive a refund for the lesser room.
The attendant at the desk was very rude to my wife during check in. Once we gave in to the bad situation he did play nice.
Our towels were either used or not properly washed.
The room had damage to the walls (looked like water damage).
The sofa bed didn't have sheets on it.
(Not to do with the hotel or staff) There was a family on the floor that let their kids run wild at all hours and kept waking us up (including our one year old).

They had no towels it was flys in the pool towel drop bin.

My 2nd room was not ready for a couple hours after we arrived

Housekeeping woke us up every morning at 9 o'clock knocking on the door which is unacceptable, especially when I was staying 3 nights. I wanna wake up when I wanna wake up. Also I went to the front desk twice and had to wait over ten minutes for some one to come to the desk. The third day we were there The room key didn't work on my door or the outside door which was extremely inconvenient when you go to the front desk and no one's there to help you And then when you talk back through the door to someone, they say, hold on, we'll be right there But I was already waiting over ten minutes.Guaranteed it's on the cameras. I stayed at 2 Holiday Inn express in the same weekend. One in North Carolina, one in Virginia Beach, both of them are exactly the same. The people you had at the front desk were rude
And when you needed them, it was an inconvenience for them that's just unacceptable When you're dealing with the public, every single day of your life. I'm just speaking my mind telling you exactly how it was. I know it's not gonna change, and no one's gonna get reprimanded for it. I guess I will just have to go back to staying at the Hiltons. One thing, I will say, just so not everything's negative.The room was nice.The beds were comfortable and the pillows were comfortable and I slept well until nine am when housekeeping was definitely going to wake you up against your will. Oh, the other thing I wanna say that I forgot to say is there is no tag to put on the door that says, Do Not Disturb like what hotel motel does not have a Do Not Disturb sign. I've never stayed at one that didn't have that, Except for yours, and there was no Bible. What is this world coming to?

The Air conditioning did not cool properly, the staff was notified so hopefully it will cool better for the next guest. The pool could use a deep cleaning. For the price you pay for a Holiday inn, I expected better, especially based on previous reviews I saw. When I took my grandson for stroll around the parking lot, I could smell pot and saw what appeared to be a couple of employees smoking in their car. The stench of pot is very unpleasant.
