A bit worn down but still a good choice
Pros:

Historic and cozy and a great location right in the heart of downtown Traverse City. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a couple of drinks in the bar atop the building and enjoyed the lively, fun atmosphere, attentive service and an awesome sunset. Afterward we enjoyed a very tasty dinner in the restaurant. Then we enjoyed the hot tub in the beautiful pool area. Our room was small but cozy (but the windows could use a cleaning). I sat in the comfortable lobby in the morning and sipped on the coffee provided….and it was actually good coffee, a rare treat. To sum it up: we enjoyed our stay.

As probably any nearly hundred year old building, it is showing some unappealing signs of wear and tear. The elevators especially could use a facelift.

Luxury from a past era.
Pros:

This place is great. I can’t understand why it doesn’t get all four or five stars on reviews. Huge lobby with charm. Good restaurant on site. Yes, it’s an old hotel but it has a luxurious feeling and the rooms are spacious and comfortable

Park Place hotel- Traverse City- a tired historical hotel that is declining. Needs an influx of capital to restore it.
Pros:

My wife and I have stayed at the Park Place many times over the past years, so not new to staying here.
10.17.25:
Staff - always friendly and seem customer focused
Dining- Only had breakfast, and that was fine, nothing above average
Room- asked for a handicap room, but that did not happen.
Stayed in the tower, room was tired, toilet seat would not stay up,,,, turned refrigerator off,, very noisy.
WiFi - extremely poor coverage in room, unacceptable in today’s today’s world.
Elevator - wow, very worn, dirty, wanted to clean it myself. Doesn’t anyone on staff see this???
Cost: at $474.81/ night,,, would certainly expect something better than what we experienced.
Location: perfect ,,, heart of downtown and Front St.

Park Place Hotel has a storied history. It was the Traverse City Rotary that saved this hotel years ago. The ownership group owes it to Traverse City and its guests to bring this facility up to today’s standards. Nationwide hotel chains would require significant facility improvements before they would allow their flag to be flown here.

Pros:

Great place to hold an event. Everyone was very helpful. We got what I could only assume was special treatment from Tim Simonelli and Kayla (banquets, sorry don't know her last name but she moved fast and was always smiling - our entire conference team loved her).

Loved the location of this hotel. Close to the water and restaurants. Although dated and a bit worn the hotel is spacious. My husband and I enjoyed the restaurant, especially happy hour and the roof top views. I used the indoor pool and hot top for some physical therapy. It was great.
