Pros:

We’ve been here before. The property is beautiful and we love the lazy river.

Cons:

Upon arrival there was water on our room floor and a huge leak bubbled up from the ceiling. We had two queen beds and they were only able to put us in a room with one bed and a small cot so we had to buy a blow up mattress from target.

A nice resort to stay
Pros:

The place is beautiful and clean. Smells really good inside the hotel. I was expecting a hairdryer in the room but there’s none. We have the room with balcony, it is spacious but the bathroom is tight. Food is great!

Eine Wohlfühloase
Pros:

Man musste sich anstellen, first com, first serve bzw, Warteliste. Das geht sicher besser.

Money NOT well spent
Pros:

My husband and I booked what we thought would be a romantic staycation but we got the complete opposite. There were children unsupervised at the long bar. They were throwing pucks from the shuffle board around almost injuring bystanders. Screaming , yelling and crying in an adult area was not our idea of fun. If the parents were held accountable for taking care of their kids it would be different or have a designated area for children to play and not be in a bar setting , that would have been lovely. The spa and adult pool was dirty and full of pollen. For the amount we spent , we should have booked a flight to a destination or stayed downtown.

Great Spring Break with Pre-Teen Boys
Pros:

Our family had a very nice time. There was always something to do as a family, even when the weather wasn't ideal. The property is large. The Big Spring is so cool!! I wish we could have spent more time there, but the weather wasn't our friend on Saturday 4/4

Beautiful and relaxing. A few things of note that could use improvement
Pros:

This place is very beautiful. The location is quiet and tranquill, yet just a few minutes from seaworld, resturants and 20 from down town.
We went for a family vacation. We booked months in advance but there were no suites available so we got conjoined rooms. The rooms are very nice. Sizable refrigerators, plenty of counter space, beautiful showers and vanities. The only thing I would have hoped for was a couch or pull out couch, as we had 6 people and only 4 beds, but we made it work. I'm sure it's an option, just wasn't available at the time we booked.

We did not eat on the resort, other than the pool shack bar and grill. A kid's meal for $10 was worth it and of good quality, even to feed an adult. Drinks are pricy but we did get N/A smoothie which were more affordable at $8. I heard food and drinks were better priced at the lagoon but forgot to look.

The wild life is great. They feed the animals daily so they are active and somewhat domesticated. The property is beautiful and quiet. We took advantage of the complimentary bike rentals and the complimentary bucket of balls at the range. We went to the golf range 3 days actually and we're happy to be greeted with clubs to borrow and ride from the club house to the range.

A few things we were not so fond of: we rented the surfing machine for 30 minutes, which looking back, we should have split into groups. It's $35 for 30 minutes, 1 person. Or $135 for 30 minutes, unlimited people. We had 6 people and the time flew by. Each person got roughly 5 minutes which was super lame and over priced. I do get that its what's advertised, but for the price you should definitely get an hour.
We were really disappointed in how underwhelming this experience was. The kids were looking forward to it and afterwards said it was not worth it.

The lagoon, was a great idea that was somewhat poorly executed.
First off, the lagoon is concrete but not heated. It would be much more ideal if it was all sand, or atleast heated with it being a giant slab of concrete.
The lagoon is huge but there is very little room for swimming. You can go maybe 15 feet and you are cut off by booeys. If you go under the booey, you will very quickly be reprimanded. My husband went under and was coming back after being scolded by the life guard and apparently was not moving fast enough because the life guard blew the whistle and continued to yell. I say "scolded" because the guards are a bit harsh. My stepson was 2 feet away from my husband and put his arms on my husbands shoulders and they were reprimanded as well. The guard said "hands of the back!" This seemed weird and didn't pass the vibe check, whatsoever.
The area is definitely more for making money and impressing the conference's held in the "barn". Most of the area is for paddle boarding and kayaking, which starts at $30 per half hour. We were really excited about the lagoon and used it the least. It's very windy, but a good place to sunbathe in the sand. Not great for swimming, except for maybe little, little kids.

The family pool is very nice. Great temperature, lots to do with the lazy river and basketball hoop. I was warned before going that they don't keep up on cleaning it enough, which is true but you get used to it. With the mature landscape, it is bound to happen.

The smores every night are free and fun. We did some of the crafts and wild life feedings which were nice to have available.

All in all, it was very nice and we would definitely go back. There were just the few things that are advertised that aren't as great as they make them seem, but there is plenty of free stuff to keep you busy.

Beautiful new lagoon and cabanas
Pros:

Highly recommend the lagoon and Cabana for the day; kids said this was their favorite day / experience. Paddle boards and kayaks were fun.

Rooms are nicely refurbished, and breakfast buffet is plentiful and fresh.

Spa is greatly appreciated; peaceful and enjoyable.

There was an odd, anomalous incident with our room, but Jacob and Sarah G took good care of us; both are professional, proactive, friendly servant leaders.

Look for Ranger Sean and get ready to learn about all the animals and trees!

Nice resort but not worth the cost.
Pros:

Beautiful resort but the cost doesn’t match the level of service expected at that price point. Gift shop sold smallest package of Tylenol… I think 6 pills for $9. Basic toothbrush… $9. Allergy medicine $28?

It was good because we had friends. Prefer JW Marriott
Pros:

I liked the location and how big the property green space is.

Cons:

Not a lot of stuff to do that’s included. Only one small slide. When compared to the JW Marriott hill country which has a whole water park. The other activities are all payed separately and not cheap.
Not enough restaurants and food was okay.
