Pros:

Unfortunately, our experience was not as good as we expected. The breakfast had very limited options; there were mainly cereal and waffles, so there was not much variety.

The common areas were also not as clean as we would have liked. The floor felt sticky, and there were other cleanliness issues that affected our overall experience.

We hope the hotel can improve the cleanliness and breakfast options, as these details make a big difference in the quality of the stay.

Cons:

Unfortunately, our overall stay was very disappointing. The hotel had a strong smell of tobacco and humidity, and the smell in our room was so intense that we could not sleep well.

The bathroom was poorly cleaned, and there was a lot of dust behind and around the furniture and television. There were also not enough towels for the guests, and the floor was dirty.

Overall, the experience was very unpleasant. The price we paid for the night does not justify the quality of the service or the condition of the hotel. We were very disappointed with our stay. We do not recommend this hotel and will not be returning.

The hotel needs major updates. Paint peeling, toilets leak, mold in bathrooms. Our sheets and shower both had hair all over. Dead bugs in both the room and kitchen areas. Our fridge had someone else's leftovers left it in. The staff was friendly but would definitely not recommend staying here. The pool was absolutely gross, and we would not allow our kids to swim, which is unfortunate.

Cons:

The front desk clerk when I checked in last night, July 8,2026 at the Baymont by Wyndham in Galesburg,IL. The most disrespectful clerk I've ever experienced!!! Reference Booking.com confirmation # 541817097. I pre paid using 1 of my Capital One credit cards before getting to the property. Long story short, after telling the clerk I pre paid & booked the room through Booking.com, he then tried to run my card 2 more times & it declined after the 3rd attempt. I called Capital One & had their rep explain 3 different times in the call that the charge cleared the 1st time. The clerk even attempted to run it while on the call, unknown to me, and the Capiital one rep flagged that attempt & told the clerk it cleared the 1st time & to stop trying to run the card!!

I never done this before, but I'm so upset, I want my money back for that stay.

Nasty!!!

Hurried to get out..Filthy room..bug crawling on wall when we woke up

Filthy everywhere!!! Doors, windows, carpets, lobby area, chairs in room were dilapidated, upholstered furniture stained and filthy! Towels stained.bedsheets inside out? Used and flipped???

Cons:

There were bloodstains in both rooms. Mold in the showers. The sheets were stained. Both rooms were totally disgusting. We didn’t end up staying because both rooms were gross. We left, and were told we’d get a refund but haven’t yet.
