I have been to the Inn many times over the last 30yrs. It was comfortable and classy. I recently spent a couple of nights on a girls spa time and I was beyond disappointed. It has become very run down. The food was mediocre and the dinning room service nil. BUT no hot water in the shower was the deal breaker, even when we reported it. On a good note the spa was lovely.
Love the rooms! Very clean! Had a large shower and jacuzzi tub and the heated floor tiles were a nice surprise! We also love the cozy tavern for drinks and dinner.
We've now stayed in all of the famous historical Inns of New England and New York, and in coming here, we definitely saved one of the best for last. This is a beautiful property in the beautiful village of Sandwich, with comfortable rooms and an excellent full-service restaurant. We did visit in the off-season (where you trade reduced services for peace and quiet), but that is our normal and individual preference. In summer, we've heard that it bustles.
The restaurant was closed on our first day, but opened the following night for very well prepared Country Inn fare (the Chicken Pot Pie is almost a requirement of the genre, and no one does it better than here). On the first night, the thoughtful Inn staff guided us to local alternatives that were equally superb.
We'll be back!
Very pleasantly surprised with this very cozy Inn. Loved the remodeled bathroom with heated floors. Great big shower. Too bad no bench in there. The room was very large. Very clean and quiet room. Great restaurant. Food was very good. Overall our stay was wonderful.
During our recent stay at the Inn, we had a marvelous room experience. It had both a fireplace and a hot/jet tub. The service was great and the staff very pleasant and helpful. Highly recommended for anyone!
Two safety related issues. Both of them involve the jetted tub. No hand rail to get in or out. To close the shades behind the tub very difficult in getting behind the tub.
Beautiful room. Heated tile floors in bath and jacuzzi tub area was awesome!
Friendly, courteous, helpful staff as well.
Ac was terrible and the bed was uncomfortable and the price oevf room didn't corespind
Everything
The ambiance was very nice. It was still decked out in holiday cheer. The fire places were very cozy. Our room was spacious, well-appointed and exceptionally clean. The location was central and we were able to access sites easily.
The staff on-check in was cordial and told us a bit of what to expect, including the hours of the restaurant, But, when we tried to be seated close to 8:00 AM, since “breakfast begins at 7:30” there was no staff to greet and seat us. The restaurant was mostly dark. We wandered in it and then left into the outdoor cold and drove to eat breakfast elsewhere. The host at the hotel front desk that morning spoke mostly in single word responses. He was not friendly nor helpful. I might have expected winter rates to be more reduced than they were, since outdoor amenities were not accessible.
Lunch in Tavern. Very slow service. I had a salad with chicken. $24.00. Chicken was dry. Very small portion. Salad was tasty but very small. Still hungry. So I had dessert. The value was very poor. I’m gluten free. My husband meal includes a free roll. I would need to pay for mine. But I didn’t get the “roll” that I could have received. I would think all the rolls I can’t eat getting one included would be a wash for a business over time.
A quick getaway after a busy Holiday season with family and friends! We always try to find a place that includes amenities like spa and restaurant and this place has it all, including a seasonal pool! A two hour drive from home but it surely was worth it as we found it to be worth everything and more.
Temperatures were in the teens but the sky blue and the sun shone each day. The Cape had just received about six inches of a really wet snow and the fir trees were covered like a vintage postcard that welcomed us to the quaint town of Sandwich.
There’s a tavern, several dining rooms and a spa.
The restaurant and meal choices are varied but each item is tastefully prepared and presented by the chefs. Our meals were wonderful and the pictures will give you an example of what is available when you stay!
There are several rooms that allow for seating of guests to visit, relax and read if you so choose.
10/10 experience, beautifully decorated during the holidays and welcoming staff made our stay at the Dan’l Webster yet again
