The Lafayette was a great hotel. It was in the perfect area and we could walk to everything and there were many restaurants and things to do nearby. It was in the perfect part of town where you weren’t far from everything that you could walk, but it was also quiet. Loved our room, the amenities were good and the staff was great. Desi steakhouse, which is on the bottom floor of the hotel was a fantastic place to eat dinner. Also only a couple of blocks from the World War II museum, which was amazing. Would definitely stay here again.
Best place to stay in New Orleans.
Within walking distance to the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, and the Mississippi River Walk. The Hop on Hop off bus and the Trolley are right across the street.
Away from the hustle and bustle and right next to Lafayette park.
Would recommend highly.
Nice room at a good location. French quarter is about a 20 min walk from here and there are good food options nearby. Close to both party options and museum options.
Everything was great! It was amazing how you got into your room! Did not have to keep up with key cards! Open air balcony! Valet was on point!
Wonderful hotel right in the middle of everything, beside Lafayette Park right on the St. Charles streetcar line. We had a double queen room that was beautiful and spacious and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The beds, pillows, and linens were all very comfy (and I'm super picky about bedding). There is no onsite parking but there's a parking garage a block away that you can reserve space in ahead of time (Poydras Center) and the hotel has a valet if you'd prefer not to bother with finding parking (there is a fee). The staff was warm, friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend the Lafayette if you want to avoid a generic, "big-name" hotel. I would absolutely stay here again.
Front desk staff was amazing. Warm, friendly knowledgeable
I'll be fair. Our 4-nights stay at the Lafayette started on a good note. Room is big and clean, check-in process is smooth, and the texting service with the hotel is convenient. 5 stars.
First sign of problem happened on day 3 when the cleaning staff entered our room against our explicit request of no cleaning, which the hotel staff agreed to. Down to 4 stars now.
On this day (2/22/2026) the weather became unseasonably cool, and there was no heat available in the room. The temperature in the room dipped down to 64 F and it got too cold to sleep comfortably. Now only 3 stars.
On the next day (2/23/2026) the city of New Orleans issued a boil water advisory early in the morning. My friends who were staying in different hotels in the same CBD neighborhood all got notified by their hotel staffs to take precaution, but I received no word from the Lafayette despite the texting service. This is really unacceptable. We're at 2 stars now.
Upon checkout on the last day, I texted with the hotel staff to complain about their failure to warn us about the boil water advisory and look out for our health and safety. The hotel's response went from pleading ignorance about the advisory to gaslighting me that the hotel wasn't in the advisory zone. Now we're in rock bottom, bona fide one-star territory.
Don't just take my word. Look at the receipts. Avoid this hotel.
This location was PERFECT. Walking distance to Bourbon Street, Canal Street, Sazerac House, and most attractions. It was walkable to Jackson Square, but we chose to get ubers which were about $10 from Kasa. This hotel is in an incredibly safe area and directly next to the court house and Mardi Gras parade route. Check in was easy and the staff was friendly. The front desk was always accessible, they held my luggage for a later flight time and overall very accommodating. I had such a wonderful experience I extended my stay. I will happily stay here again and recommend this to any person visiting New Orleans.
The rooms were spacious and clean. They offered complimentary water and cookies upon arrival. Bathrooms were also spacious, clean, and modern.
It was great place to stay. Easy check in and out. Also great location not too far from everything I needed and especially plenty hot water in shower (but one thing needed was hand soap bar)
Location was great to get anywhere we wanted to go. Loved the vibe of the place as it seemed more “NOLA-style” than the big name hotel we transferred from after our sports tournament ended. Bianca was great at the front desk when we checked in. Rooms were great size and clean with a large bathroom. A much better value from the big name hotel where we could only get one bed for almost three times the cost. Loved having the balcony and ability to open the door to let fresh air in. No issues with noise even though we were right off the elevator. The vending machines were nice for drinks and snacks as needed. We would definitely stay here again.
Stayed at the Lafayette for a few days after Mardi Gras.
They're perfectly located on St Charles Ave right across the street from the trolley line to the Garden District and within walking distance of most of what New Orleans has to offer.
The area around the hotel was pretty decent, but like any city (especially New Orleans) there are lowlifes around, so you must keep your wits about you
The room I had was perfect, and the staff was excellent.
I know this may not happen all of the time, but they were able to get me an early check in and a late check out at no charge.
They also can store your luggage for you should the need arise.
Oh yea, the price for my room was very reasonable for a hotel in the Central Business District.
My room was very nice. Bed not too hard or soft. I did not have a microwave if it is something someone would need but I did not. One suggestion I would make is installing at least one grab bar in the shower/tub. I like the doors requiring a pass code. No cards to keep track of. Staff was very helpful with several questions I had and I received several texts from them checking on my needs. Hotel is on the main parade route during Mardi Gras so one should check on the schedule for that if it would impact your stay one way or the other.
Great communication through Kasa. Room was nice, everything was as advertised.
Boutique hotel on the parade route. Many restaurants within walking distance. Great location to enjoy parades during Mardi Gras. Very friendly staff!
All of the above are exceptional!
We had a room with a king size bed. It was very comfortable. It was a bit noisy with the street cars and the set up for the upcoming Mardi Gras events but they provide you with ear plugs and you don’t hear a thing
Bianca assisted us with directions and recommendations for places to go and see. Provided a map and even highlighted routes for us.
We also had a gift that contained more than the allowed 3oz to fly and Bianca assisted us to ship it back to our home.
Bianca even went above and beyond getting a cab ordered for us scheduled the morning we were to depart from the hotel!
I also loved that you had people at front desk who were friendly and told us about the best places to get a crawfish boil. (A must do for my adult daughter).
I was also pleasantly surprised by the technology that permitted us to check in and out via our phones. No keys needed. The provided me with a door code and everything we needed for our stay, including the WiFi (which had a very strong signal).
If I had questions I could text to the same number that they provided the codes and WiFi information and they would respond quickly. This saved us from calling or having to go to the lobby.
I would absolutely stay here again. Jackson Square is right next to the hotel and it’s surrounded by beautiful old magnolia trees.
There is lots to do within walking distance. Plenty to see and do!
very nice experience, everything here is good
Bianca at the front desk was a treasure throughout. We were on the 6th floor, so streetcar noise when passing was muffled. The location next to Lafayette Square was great for us, as we took dogs. Lots of good eats nearby, including a Rouse grocery only 2 blocks down...Streetcar will let you hold lapdogs in your seat without a carrier. Only 3-4 blocks to the start of the French Quarter, and streetcars on Canal go all the way down to Audobon Park. Room service was quick, too! Easy walk to the casino and the riverboats, too!
Staff are lovely. Bianca in particular is very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. Hotel, location and room - all perfect. We loved our stay.
Perfect location between the French Quarter and the Garden District. Being on St. Charles the trolley runs right outside and stops in front of the hotel. We did not find the trolley noise to be disturbing from our room. We did not eat at the steakhouse on the first floor but it smelled delicious and looked very upscale. Beautiful historic building. Beautiful furnishings. Our first room was tight. Meaning close quarters but seemed manageable. We were not there very long before we discovered a problem with the locks. There was no way to reach the front desk so I called the Kasa customer service number in my email confirmation. She was able to reach the front desk and remedy the situation fairly quickly. The front desk attendant ended up moving us to another room which was much more spacious. We were very pleased with the aesthetics. The room was very clean. We were also very pleased with the comfort of the bed. 5 nights on a great mattress was a very pleasant surprise. I would recommend the mezzanine level women's bathroom could have used a thorough cleaning and maybe some update. Not quite to the level of the rooms. Our valet was great, however, the time it took to retrieve our vehicle varied which made timing reservations a bit tricky. For a first trip in New Orleans it was a great stay and we highly recommend it.
