London Bloomsbury Square Hotel by IHG

De renoverade receptionen när vi var där vilket var ett litet minus då man blev tvungen att gå genom renoveringen för att komma till rummet. Det var dick inget som störde.

The hotel was undergoing renovations about which we had not been forewarned. This greatly impacted on the hotels ability to provide us with a satisfactory location for meals. The restaurant was totally closed and breakfast had to be pre-ordered from a limited menu and there was the choice of eating breakfast in our room or the bar. The room did not give sufficient space for two people in eat in comfort so we opted for the bar. All breakfast items were delivered on one tray and positioned on a small table in the bar area. Unfortunately the quality was poor and was accompanied by the sound of a loud drill in the adjoining space. Overall breakfast was not an enjoyable experience. We did express our concerns to the manager who suggested we contact booking.com and she would approve a refund for the breakfasts. We have yet to attempt to do so. It’s a shame because under normal circumstances I am sure that it would be an ideal hotel in which to stay.

Tv not working, bathroom light not working, toilet brush broken in half, toilet location to shower poor with minimal room.

The breakfast was a disaster. The structure is undergoing some renovation work and they serve you take away breakfast that you need to order in advance
We received half the items, many were wrong (apple juice instead of orange juice, strawberry yogurt instead of plain one...), no bread, no coffee and we had to wait 50 minutes. The staff was rude too.

When we arrived we were told that the restaurant was closed during the refurbishment and therefore we would need to fill in the breakfast form and to quote ‘have a lovely breakfast delivered to the room..’
So we went up to the room and was pleased we hadn’t brought along a cat to swing - ! Very small room - even though it’s advertised as a premium double room. - there was just room to get round both sides of the bed and there was only one chair…
Room was clean and just a basic small room really.
We went out and left the form asking for our breakfast with specific items and to be delivered at 8.30 am. I was awake at 6.30 eagerly awaiting breakfast - although with one chair and a small desk and no room for a room service trolley we knew it was going to be challenging to eat in the room… anyway 8.30 came and went - thought I would give them a chance as they may be busy… 8.55 nothing - so I called the reception - they would get right onto it - double quick…. 9.10 calls me back - they have lost the piece of paper with my order on it.. - gave them the list again - was told they will be a few minutes - at 10am an hour and a half late the breakfast arrived…well if you can call it a breakfast.. some food piled into a styrofoam container.. see the pictures…also not including hardly any of what we ordered at all..no salt and pepper or sauce or butter for the one piece of toast that was soggy, no beans, mushrooms or tomato or black pudding — I wish we hadn’t waited as we then missed our train and the whole day we were trying to play catch up .. Surely the property should either be closed until they can give their guests a good service or at the least tell you at the booking stage that they will not be able to offer any food of any quality…and don’t kid them that they will get ‘a good breakfast’__ because you don’t!! As we left the duty manager was apologetic and suggested I write to them and bla bla..

Breakfast set up - take away style and had to decide the night before

Nos dieron una habitación en el primer piso sin reformar aún y pegada a un edificio. No nos gustó nada. Afortunadamente nos cambiaron a una habitación reformada del séptimo piso muy luminosa.
