Under construction, booked for the pool but unfortunately you had to access it from the outside due to construction and our room wad a distance from it. So I didn't want to walk around outside to get to it, nor get in car and drive , only to get in car wet afterwards.
Only the pool situation
This place had structural damage and disgusting smells all throughout. The gym was down and no air on the first floor. Knowing they had issues- no one mentioned anything to us prior to checking in.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Our location was close to everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again if I was in the area.
The free continental breakfast could have used some more food. Tea bags were not even restocked. It was a little lacking.
Arrived was getting luggage out. An employee who was leaving greeted us and asked if we had a digital key and what room we were staying in. I gave her the number, and she said there had been a flood and for us to drive further down and enter in door 5.
We were grateful, but from our second floor room, there was no way to get to the lobby except to go outside and walk to the opposite end of the building. The hallway smelled really musty, and the baseboard was torn off. The elevator was extremely slow. The door to lobby on both floors said do not enter. The room was spacious, updated, and clean. The bathroom was updated, the shower glass door had soap scum, and the floor was not completely clean. If I had known about the flood and the musty smells, I wouldn't have made the reservation. Since there is not a coffee maker in these rooms, we did not really have access to lobby and coffee. Left very early.
I am so disappointed in Spark by Hilton in Bardstown, KY. I was suppose to be staying there during Kentucky Music Week festivities. However, all amenities closed due to flooding issue on 1st floor. I did not find out about the issues through call from the hotel manager as expected. It was only through message on KMW Facebook page from another who had called himself to confirm his reservations that many of us heard of the issues at hotel. The only reason I did not give lowest rating is that they did allow cancellation of reservation without fee. This did mean finding another place to stay though at the last minute... You are truly going to loss many Kentucky Music Week customers due to lack of communication by the hotel about situation.
This is just an average hotel, nothing special. Like any other average hotel, they rented out the pool for a birthday party and it was overrun with a traveling sports team. However, I was surprised to find that it doesn’t have EV charging facilities, which is something they should consider adding. I’d probably choose a different hotel next time we visit.
Some Door is close to parking lot
Loud kids running screaming slamming doors no parents with them staff didn’t pay attention never at the front desk had to call n report noise after listening to it for hours on in I got fed up at 11pm that it was still going on
Good price for the size of the room and super clean
This hotel was previously a Hampton Inn. Let’s start with that. So imagine a newly renovated Hampton Inn. Everything is new and revitalized. Fresh paint and fixtures in the rooms. Sheets were not as nice as other Hiltons. The exterior needs some help but otherwise accommodations are great. Non-main Exterior doors and such need to be painted and could use a whole new refresh.
So the downside, rooms will eventually have no microwaves, there is one in the lobby to use. Breakfast is lacking. You get cereal and bagels only. The hot bar like Hampton and waffles is all but gone, we decided to go to Mammies for breakfast on the second day, vice earring another day with mini-whets that tasted like cardboard. Supposedly, they are building a new Hilton near the Fairgrounds. I will probably find another hotel at another chain to stay at until the new one is built.
Everything was great !
Let's just say I think the name should be Hilton Sparse. No hot water (lukewarm only), dirty towels (black marks on the shower mat, hair on the hand towel), no ice bucket, no hot breakfast. I'm surprised they actually had a working refrigerator in the room. The staff were very friendly - that's the only reason I gave it a 2-star rating.
We found this hotel to be very nice. It was updated and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. While there was no hot breakfast they had a variety of selections including yogurt from a machine (first time I've seen that), fresh fruit, pastries, hard boiled eggs and various other choices. We would definitely stay here again.
Everything was nice. Room very clean. Breakfast awesome
The location was good and it was a clean facility.
Our bathroom toilet never worked when we told the front desk we were told there was nothing that could be done and we would have to use the lobby bathrooms because all the rooms were booked. We were also told that we would get a total or partial refund for not having a working toilet and then we were never contacted like we were promised.
Close to downtown but a short drive to distilleries.
Nothing. Very happy
