Hotel Derby Barcelona

Be CAREFUL. We booked a full week but made a mistake and needed to make the first day of that week ONE DAY LATER. The hotel would NOT provide any kind of refund. Would not even provide a breakfast. Instead they are taking that one day when we won’t be there, charging us, and that’s that. Shocked really.

We enjoyed the hotel because it’s clean, it has professional employees and the room was very confortable. Near from buses that connect you to all parts of Barcelona.

I stayed for 4 nights here in September 2025. The location was very good , secure , calme & near to famous Diagonal street and just 10 minutes walk to metro station. Specially the staff were amazing/Javi at the reception was very kind and really a great help.I recommend this to everybody and will stay again there for 100 percent sure

Hotel is ok, more like 3 star than 4 star as advertised. Wifi was down a portion of our stay when we needed it the most, the safe was not working, telephone in the room was also not working. No compensation from the hotel

Very polite staff! The rooms were cleaned every day and the reception desk staff were always willing to support!
The canteen staff were also extremely polite, especially Osman!

Absolutely amazing! The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful! We felt right at home. The staff helped us by giving suggestions and reviewing a map of the city which was so helpful! This hotel and their staff was truly one of the highlights of our Barcelona trip!

I booked this hotel on Booking.com, but through a partnered company called Xigua Limited. My stay at the hotel was fine and everything was fine with the reservation.

However, I did not receive the invoice when I checked out, but I had to wait a month for it to arrive from this partner company. When I received the invoice, it did not have an invoice number that matched the Booking Number (which is highlighted on the receipt I received from Booking), and the payment currency was in CNY even though everything was paid for in euros.

Also, the full address of the hotel was not on the invoice, nor was the address of my company to which I asked for the invoice to be addressed.

I contacted Booking, but they were of no help. I will never book a hotel through such partner agencies again, because Booking has no control over what happens, and I myself could not be in direct communication with them.

The hotel is rather a 3-star hotel, and I only stayed one night, so it was ok, even though it was overpriced. I don't think I would book it again. Everyone was very kind.

The staff were helpful (especially Cecilia), the room was clean, the facilities were in good condition, and the location is good - close to public transport. Also the neighbourhood is a good one, does not have high traffic density, still easily accessible from the city’s centre.

The Derby is one of the best hotels to stay in Barcelona. Great staff, nice area close to shops and restaurant. Highly recommended!

Did not feel like a 4* hotel. Rather basic and cheap coffee pods in the room rather than decent ones. Not a hotel I would recommend.

Yes the room was incredibly comfy. Yes the breakfast was a step up from the standard hotel breakfast. But the concierge team is amazing, friendly and accommodating. Cecilia helped me in a dire moment of need and she didn't have to. Much gratitude!

Only issue was the lighting in the bathroom shower area was very dark, we both commented on it. Other than that everything was great. Front Desk 'Cecilia' was especially helpful during our stay also....

A hotel with humanity and understanding for all needs, the beds are very comfortable and the service at the reception is always with a smile, especially the service of CLAUDIAAND and CECILIA who are always with a smile and understanding of our needs. I came with my brother who has a high fever and my brother with a broken leg and they helped us with everything and with understanding and a warm heart

Staff is really kind and always at your service, no matter the time you get back at the hotel. The room is perfect for two people, the bathroom is great and contains everything you could need in case you forgot something (except toothbrush). The beds are literally taking your soul on the very moment you lay on them because of how soft the mats are, they are perfect.

Nice hotel, but needs an update!
It has everything you need but feels like old and not so clean... Very convenient, you can walk to restaurants and shopping malls.
