Brilliant location with helpful staff
Pros:

I had a lovely room that had been renovated. Plenty of room and the bed was very comfortable.
They kept my luggage for me as I had an afternoon flight home.

Cons:

My son’s room was pretty basic. Very much in need of a makeover. Breakfast was pretty basic.

Perfect central location in the Heart of Aberdeen
Pros:

Had a lovely stay once again in the Apartments on Union street part of the Hotel. Perfect for self catering in the heart of the city. They have a floor assigned for dogs staying with you which on this occasion we didn’t bring this time. Modern clean facilities home from home small kitchenette’with hob oven dishwasher fridge washing machine utensils. Nice lounge area with one or two bedrooms flats. Friendly Staff. And the perfect Mine Host, Mary, always on hand. Our preferred place to stay

Was ok for a 1 night stay
Pros:

I booked a Superior Double Room for a one night stay, mainly due to the location.
We left our bags at reception as we arrived at 11:30 and check in was 4pm.
We were told our room would be ready by 1pm, which it was.
The reception staff were polite and helpful and the hotel lobby is gorgeous.
However, the room was passable… the walls had holes in them which had been painted over, there was alot of dust, the bathroom window was black with mould and the white doors were filthy around the handles.
The bathroom was clean and the bed was clean.
The cups left for tea/coffee both had a sticky residue at the bottom.
In our room there was a sky light with no blind so that woke us up as the room was so bright.
The view was as others have said, a disused back area…not nice!
As we were leaving, i did see painters in some rooms so hopefully they are renovating as the rooms are tired.

Dissapointed This time
Pros:

My wife and I stayed in room 222 for the 1 night and were a bit dissapointed as we've stayed there plenty times b
efore.
Check in was great and all the staff helpful and pleasant. Looking out our bedroom window resembled a building site. There seemed to be a fan going somewhere outside all night.
Breakfast was average but please add some more cereal selection.
Now the people in the room above us were domesticating and we couldn't sleep for the noise along with hearing all the drain water draining through the rooms.
I had to complain about the noise and in the morning check out thought they would update us.
Yes we will return to The Douglass hotel
